The evolving mechanics of the game penalize my play style

The game has evolved over the last several months into a very challenging and costly form of entertainment for my play style. Over the past 10 years, I've invested a lot of time and money to support the ongoing development of this game. I've always enjoyed it, with the exception of the Delta Rising release. The current state of the game is a kin to the Delta Rising release for my builds and play style. My builds and equipment have become irrelevant. Unless I completely change my builds to a tank build, I can no longer survive many of the Advanced TFO's. It is also shocking that I can no longer survive Normal level story missions.

I thought that we might have been "nerfed" for the release of Tier 6 reputations, but all my matured characters have now reached Tier 6 and they all have to respawn at least twice during many of the Advanced TFO's and some of the Normal Story missions. I have also respec'd all my characters to have more defensive resistances and away from pure damage, but it seems that swapping several defensive consoles may also be required to survive TFO's. The game has transitioned to a much more "challenging" NPC model, and I am not prepared to upgrade a new set of consoles to adjust. I'm not sure if it is actually a setup issue or a bug that makes me so vulnerable to kinetic damage and shield drain. The changes in the game require an almost complete rebuild of my characters to properly adjust to what I fear is the new future NPC model.

While leveling many new characters, it appears that they all do as expected, since I usually max level my gear before continuing through the character progression tracks. For me, when my new characters reach a point when they have completed about 30 specialization points (Intel and Strategist, in my case), my builds become less effective. By that time, all my gears is epic and my build is configured for end game. The "wall" that I hit doesn't go away, in the case of my completed and mature characters either. For my play style, it is almost like it is not worth upgrading equipment at all. You will die no matter what gear or setup you have.

The game appears to have evolved into a PvP players dream come true. The use and magnitude of NPC Feedback Pulse, Subnucleonic Beam, Viral Matrix, Tractor Beam, Shield drain abilities, Kinetic Damage, Invulnerability, and FAW/Scatter Volley Nullifiers make the content appear to be perfect for a PvP build. This change was too abrupt for me. I was used to being forced to make slight adjustments to my build every year. It seems like I will have to completely change my builds and the way I play for updated and future content.

I supported the game and the development team for what seems like the last time for a while, with the current Zen promotion. The game appears to be evolving away from what I consider entertainment.

The man is mainly on point.

The slide has been observed multiple times and the requirements to rotate and reinvest into gear to remain viable is becoming a nuisance.

Slight progressive sets of nerfs combined with the boosts of NPCs will destroy the casual gamer (who usually pays up so the bunch of elitists non-contributors can talk down to). And as the experience dies, the financial supporters will close wallets.

As the wallets are closed, the game will need sources of revenue.

If revenue decreases, the server performance will suffer.

If the server performance suffers, the community will be thinned further.

If the community is thinned, there will be minimal to no revenue and the remaining people will gradually leave.

When the revenue will hit top bottom, CBS is gonna close this Shack Trek Online down and you elitists will return to watch reruns of the Star Trek shows again.

To avoid this, everyone has to contribute:
    - The development keeps on bringing out new content. That is the strong course.
    - The balancing should no longer be done by constantly nerfing and invalidating builds.
    - The Challenges could be posed without creating a frustrating gameplay experience that, under the actual meta, could be realised by simply creating Content for End game/ Elitists. Both PvP and PvE. Perhaps you need new game designers?
    - The new ships are a reason to be concerned. I have found absolutely no new ship that would be worth even half of its price, not to say the full price. Since the Andorian t6 Escorts were released, things went downhill ship-wise. I'd gladly contribute financially with at least a minimal purchase monthly if I see any point in getting entertainment and a trek-experience from this.

    Now, the users' part.

The financial contributors: Should purchase what they need and enjoy the free time they don't spend on grinding and converting. And give some time, patience and trust to the development team to make the necessary changes/adjustments to keep this game alive and turn into what we enjoy playing (which generates revenue, which means online server and profit).

The free-to-player elitists: Should stop encouraging the nerfPC-boostNPC trend by saying that "the game is easy" or "its just bugs, bro, git gud". Enjoy the freedom and vast amount of content that this product is offering for FREE to you and be a decent member of the community.

Unless, of course, you people wanna return to Series Reruns in a year or so. Just saying.
