REVISED: When you buy a ship on a console ex. Xbox One and move to another Xbox One, are those ships tied to your account or are they tied to the previous Xbox?

Okay, now that is a grey area that I've heard conflicting info on. I've had some people tell me that with other games, their account was locked to a specific XBOne and wouldn't transfer over to another. Others have said the opposite, but with a different game involved so... yeah, I can't answer that.

I personally would think it'd be your account that anything/everything should be tied to, not just a specific Console. Things happen and sometimes electronics die. Getting a replacement would seem natural and being able to move an account from the old dead to the new one makes sense to me. But, with how greedy some business are these days, nothing surprises me anymore.

I hope so, I really want to play STO on Xbox but I also don't want to restart if my info isn't transferrable from one Xbox to another Xbox.

Just make sure you use the exact Gamertag as that is what is saved on Cryptic's servers.

If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

PC, XBOne and PS4 are all separate things, they have zero crossover. Buy something on PC, it's only on your PC account. You will not have access to it on your XBOne or PS4 accounts. So it would seem likely if you buy something for XBOne it would not be available on PS4 or PC.

Perhaps I should've been more specific, my question in short is...
"Xbox One STO, if I buy a ship on one Xbox and I move to a different Xbox is my STO info tied to that first Xbox or is it tied to my Xbox profile?"

I ask because soon I'll be getting an Xbox One and I hope to play STO on it until I get my own Xbox One, and when I do get my own can my STO info such as ships follow me to that other Xbox or would it just be locked to that other Xbox.

Hmm great, I guess until otherwise I'm going to have to wait until I get my own Xbox One to play STO. *sigh*

It's your Xbox Profile that it's (supposed to be) linked to, not machine, as on PC, it's your account that it's linked too. Your data is saved server side with STO.
