The Caitians (Pridelanders) and Ferasans (Outsiders) coexisted until the latter nearly destroyed Cait's ecosystem by not managing predation levels, water supply, etc. The former exiled the latter after retaking the planet in a series of battles.

What actually happened is that Ferasans were the result of genetic engineering which, like on Earth, went wrong.

The Caitians fled their former homeworld (Ferasa Prime) and settled on a new planet they named Cait.

Marty, I'll stick to my headcanon for them. Hawku, I'm trying to find that image of Simba/Mufasa wearing the Starfleet uniform on Google.

Hmm, if ever you decide to include that in a Foundry mission, be careful about changing those names to something else, though. Well, at least "Pridelands" and "Pridelanders" should be renamed into something different to avoid copyright issues <.<

Also apparently Caitians and Ferasans are good at jumping, unlike kzinti (who evolved from catlike creatures of the homeworld's plains - in Ringworld, Speaker-to-Animals is visibly distressed at watching Louis Wu climb over a disabled hovercycle that's caught in an ancient police suspension field).

I'm basing the Caitians/Ferasans off the Lion King franchise instead of the Kzinti.

Well Star Trek, the franchise, bases them on Kzinti. Not sure what the Lion King could possibly have to do with anything.

The OP is running a Fusion Fic fanon of Star Trek and Kingdom Hearts.

I'm still not sure how that works

Well, Kingdom Hearts is itself a Final Fantasy/Disney cartoon Massive Multiplayer Crossover anyway, so...

I seem to remember a few Doctor Who/Trek crossovers as well as a Marvel/Trek crossover.
