Yep, all my Jem skills are invalid, forcing me to do a respec. A 'free' respec, as some called it on channel. Let me tell you, though, there's nothing 'free' about it: it's half-an-hour, at least, painstakingly setting them all, choosing per-point abilities, for ground and space. And oh yeah, ALL my Traits will be unslotted.
I saw that on my Jem when I was doing my daily rep projects, but when I went to my skill page it's still all filled in? /confused
(didn't get a chance to actually play any content with him yet, was just doing daily rep/doff/admiralty)
Strange, but thx. A reputable person in channel said all Jems would get one, at the end of the Gamma Recruit event. Guess it was just my bad luck, then.

Mine all looked okay too. Problem is, you can't look at your reps any more, without a respec. And you can't set a Secondary spec tree, I believe. So, you're kinda passive-aggressively forced to redo them, after all. This is yet another good reason why Traits need to become part of the loadouts, btw.
half an hour? more like 5 mins per toon. but yeah today was the day gamma recruits end... so they removed all the gamma trait from the JHD so that is why they all get hit with the skill invalid tag. same thing happened at end of Delta recruit re-run event.

5 mins per toon?! LOL. Literally took me a more than half-an-hour: reselecting the skills, making all the sub-choices again (both ground and space), and resetting all my Traits -- and do it slowly enough, so as not to make a mistake.
But, erm, why would they remove the Gamma Trait from the JH?! I didn't see anything immediately missing, though.
Because the Gamma Recruit Trait that gave us salvage based on the rank of defeated enemies was a temporary trait, only available as long as the recruit event was active. Same with the Delta trait that gave us Dilithium.

I use the same DPS Tac Space build or "balanced" space build for all toons... most get the DPS Tac one. Ground is 100% cookie cuter across all toons, weapons & kits. space & ground traits are all almost the same, slight difference in class/race but nothing much. rep & starship traits are all the same, dont even touch em when I do ground missions. I only use Intel/Pilot for specs.
The skills my engineering Jem shipped with were kicked-in-the-balls terrible, so I respecced at once. I've seen this bug many times over the years though.
Get in the habit of noting your skill setups elsewhere. I do the same with with all ship setups, doff setups, etc...
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
I got it, and I expected it, and it was not a bother. 5 minutes later and I'm back to what it was.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Yup... sounds like only Jem'Hadar are getting hit. Only thing I can think of is the temp recruit trait being switched off.
Yes. and you may see the trait icon's "ghost" on space and ground (without effect of the traits) on affected char still, along with "invalid skills" status shown on skills and reputation areas. I saw no other effect though.
Due to some (non based I admit) reasons I think it's a conditional check which went non proper for after the event if the char was not logged in during its end.
the need to fix this bug I don't really feel like having to redo everything
They won't fix it.
This bug existed with the Delta Recruits as well as the Agents of Yesterday.
Anytime they have a 'temporary trait' the sudden removal of that trait forces a respec. This has existed since Delta Rising and still hasn't even been addressed. If they haven't fixed it by now, they probably never will. The free respec seems to be their answer to the problem.
I had it too... but half-hour work seems a stretch, unless you really didn't remember at all how you had your skilltree set up earlier.
Took me about 5 minutes for skilltree, plus additional minute to think whether it'd be more useful to have +2 shields or engines power, and another couple of minutes for traits. Slightly annoying, sure (and I fully agree traits should not be unslotted after respec), but ultimately no big deal.
So do I, like a week ago or so. Which made it all the more annoying having to do it yet again.
I warned you this would happen, Meimei. You wasted a respec token for nothing.
I must have completely missed that. 3 weeks in, after I had made my Vanguard, I realized I had 3 Tactical points in pet-deployment or something (not really my priority), so I decided I wanted some extra Armor plating instead, so I did the respec. If I recall correctly, the game said I still had 4 left, so no biggie.

I guess I'm just slow. And I even had a screenshot taken earlier. And I didn't want to make a mistake. But I took the opportunity to switch 1 point in shield regen to shield hardness instead. That way I can feel I did it all for a reason, LOL.
As for my Traits unslotting, is there a particular reason?! I don't think there's any Trait that is dependent on your skills (except R&D skills maybe, but those aren't respecced).

Yeah, they won't fix it. So, I did what I always do: grumble a bit, then redo them anyway.
There's no reason for all Traits to unslot, though. As I said to tunebreaker, I don't think there's any Trait that is dependent on your skills (except R&D skills maybe, but those aren't respecced). So, it would really be nice if *they* spend half-an-hour removing temp-Traits in a more clean fashion. Or do what I'm always advocating: make Traits part of the loadout system**.
** On this matter (putting on intelli-cap, to sound smarter, LOL), I'v heard ppl object to making Traits part of the loadout system, because of possible new bugs. But adding Traits to the loadout system is a lot easier than loading your tray properly. Or, rather, it's really the tray layout which has always been the tricky part, as it's always subject to race-conditions (like determining whether a 'clicky' from a rep set is present -- a condition the system often misses, btw -- or waiting for your stations to load, in order to determine what abilities should be on your tray). Adding Traits, however, should be pretty straightforward, as Traits are static, and just need to be loaded: no race-condition involved.
Traits used to be permanent, many years ago, and the only way to change them was to respec. When they made traits hot-swappable (was it with the skill revamp, or maybe even slightly earlier? I don't really remember, that was also years ago), I believe they took the lazy way out and didn't change how respec works. So now we're still stuck with the obsolete function of respec unslotting our traits, notwithstanding that there's no reason why it should that anymore.

Noticed something similar happened after the last recruitment event too on an existing character who was a recruit the first time around...

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
