Unable to swipe background to move ship/look at different perspective

Firstly...my apologies that "discussion title" was probably not very helpful!!!

I am having trouble moving the background perspective with my mouse/cursor point. That is to say that when in flight (or on a ground mission) I can turn my ship (away teaM) with the "awd" buttons but then cannot move the bakground view to match the direction in which I wish to head. Also sometimes when i click on a function (ie increase/decrease speed, click on an item in the items tray) there is no response even after clicking away several times.

I have reset all "options" to their default settings.

I am playing on an HP Pavillion 15 Notebook with Intel Core i7-5500U (duel core), using windows 10 and NVIDIA GeForce 840M. I have been playing for a few years and on this particular laptop for the last 2 years.

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Try one thing..Wipe your game cache completely also wipe the logs or any TRIBBLE that may have built up..Are you using the Key Bind tool??

There is a setting that allows you to change the type of "Chase Camera" you are using for both ground and space. I think it has like 3 options, see if adjusting that helps.

Hi there. Thanks for your responses. No I'm not using the key bind tool and I have tried the camera options to no avail..I will try a cache clean but am not sure how to do that!!!! (sorry)
