Xbox One option sticky channels

So I’ve been searching the web all over and cannot find an answer. In game..in options..under chat tab..there is an on/off for sticky channels. What is that for? I can only figure out having the 3 chat tabs (default are Chat, NPC, and Fleet). Can i add more tabs or something?

Do you mean the three tabs using lb and rb?

The channels are switched using lt and rt

Go to one of the 3 tabs, press y, go to chat settings, turn on/off the way you want it

For chat i just have armada, fleet, officer, team, zone, local, and i think tell is they one for private messages. For combat i have just combat self and sometimes I turn other two on. For third one i think i put it as mission and npc and something else

So i go to say the chat tab using RB, then flick through to say armada using RT then i chat
