Truly Universal Seating?

When will Universal seating on ships in this game actually become universal?
There's no option to use an intel, pilot, command, or miracle worker on ships with a universal slot.
Why are you misnaming these seats? They should be called something else or they should be updated so they can be used to improve ship options!

Universal seats were made well before they even dreamt of having specializations. We did ask this when the change happened but to no avail. You will probably get more variety as they run out of combinations further down the line and make more 'multi role' specialties.

Well, univeral is kinda the opposite of special, isn't it? ;)

It's not just that they were created before specialist seat were developed. It's also that they intentionally don't allow any specialist slotting, because it would make the specialist seat less valuable and lower the design space for future ships. If a universal seat would cover all specializations, instead of just one (or none), there could be no difference between a ship with a Lt.Universal|Pilot and a Lt.Universal|Command ship.

So universal seats will likely never become all-specialists seats.
Maybe in the future Cryptic will invent a new type of seats that can slot multiple specializations, but I wouldn't count on that, and it's unlikely to change existing univeral seats.

That's the thing they should be renamed or made actually universal.

Not when you include all three careers as well as all specializations. When you do that it returns to it's original meaning, universal.
