I'd say yes for several reasons.

1) the web cannon is amazeballs. Boosted by EPG and it can do serious damage on a lot of enemies.

2) when they eventually release T6 tholian box ships the Orb weaver will be able to use said web cannon and with 5 EPG sci consoles to boost it that thing will be a monster.

3) as a ship it's pretty great as well. Good high hull points, turns quite well, 8 guns, access to a hanger with the very cool meshweavers for pets.

4) it looks AMAZING.

It depends on why you want it and what you need.

Pros: Cool looking space-fridge-like mothership. Flexible, strong, noticeable.

Cons: Slow ships, like all space-fridges, have a handicap when it comes to reactive steering. Could get better results along with other ships at the same value (lobi or ec). If you can tell what kind of role you want this ship to fill in, we'll gladly expose its pros and cons for your intentions.

It is amazing but the prices people want for it make me believe it will never happen

A few months a go it was way cheaper, the new infinity box could drive that price back down.
