Infinity lockbox... When?

dykerasdykeras Member Posts: 326 Arc User
I read the patch notes about a new fun carrier placed in the Infinity lock box, and me like an idiot though the lockboxes would be dropping after the patch...

Instead we still have the useless Privateer lockboxes dropping :/

Should have been today. Wait until after the official end of the Maintenance. They mostly finish earlier and then the new Sales, Lockboxes don't activate until the stated end time.

Probably about a half hour from this post.

I am kinda disappointed that the patch did not include any bug fixes old or new. Everyone knows the game has bugs. It would have been nice if they squashed one or two even if they did not personally affect my gameplay.

I really loved the loot in the Infinity Lock Box. I grabbed 100 of them yesterday and used my stash of keys to open about 60 of them. Once I saw the available ships and traits, I picked the ones that sounded the most interesting to me.

As for the ships, I selected the Kelvin Timeline Heavy Command Cruiser (T6), the Xindi-Insectoid Olaen Heavy Escort Carrier (T6), the Voth Bastion Flight-Deck Cruiser and the Kazon Heavy Raider.

You seemed to have done really well on opening those Lockboxes. Congratulations. :)

Thanks, I agree given the stingy nature of the lock boxes. I have yet to even plow through the new traits and other interesting items included that were entirely new to consoles. But I have a hefty stack of such things too.

    They were Infinity Lockboxes.

I want to see the probability of actually winning a ship on lock boxes. Opened a ton of these and don't win ships. I have 200 infinity boxes sitting around that I plan to sell.

I believe it is 250:1. R&D Promotion Packs are about 100:1.

Unless you are looking to build up Lobi and other contents of the Lockbox, the thing to do is sell Keys on the Exchange. They are going for about 5 Million EC each. If you had keys for this 200 Lockboxes, that would get you about 1 Billion EC.

Yeah don't have the keys just the boxes. Working on the keys, should have 30 later today. Trying to get my hands on the T6 Constitution or T6 Kelvin Constitution. The lock boxes I've opened 30 and never gotten anything of value and the R&D about 30 and same results.

For a lockbox ship you're better off using the keys to play the exchange until you can buy it off a player for credits.

True you may get lucky with those 30 keys but much higher chance you'll end up with a lot of R&D packs or kits/modules noone will want to buy.

    Totally agree with you!

The Kelvin Constitution is much much cheaper. About 1/4 the price of the TOS T6.

That's my goal since it's actually within reach now. That's what started my Infinity Box opening was obtaining that ship.

That is why I opted to select the Kelvin Timeline Heavy Command Cruiser (T6) as one of my Infinity picks, but frankly the exchange prices swing too wildly for my tastes and I'm not that patient. And I actually do like plenty of the other items that any given lock box tends to drop. Most don't, so that is why you will usually see several hundred each of things like the Cold Fusion Flash module and/or umpteen dozens of select traits or crafting materials available there as everyone wants to quickly dump those undesired items off.

The problem is that they often seem to expect upper tier ship prices for things like that in their efforts to earn enough credits to later buy a desired ship, forgetting that everyone else probably has plenty of them already? I'm single and my three children are grown and gone, so I do have disposable income to waste as I see fit. I buy keys and open lock boxes particularly when new ones drop to score brand new stuff and I've got enough characters running to spread the wealth between them. I typically just grab a hundred the day that they become available and open as many as I see fit, storing the rest for later on; but that is usually my limit.

As an aside, I have failed twice now to get one of those Risian Luxury Cruisers from the Phoenix Prize pack promotions and would trade that Kelvin ship in a red minute for one of those. I get that there is a disparity over the capabilities of each vessel, but I like the look of that Risian ship for one of my toons, alas!
