Am I reading this right? No dual cannons or dual heavies? On a pilot ship?
If so, what a waste.

Things I want in STO:
1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

I like the stats very much. I was hoping a light cruiser like this would come out for my KDF engineer. Didn't have to be pilot though but I won't complain.
The stats are better than I could have imagined. So excited right now. Definite purchase from me.

Can you weigh in on why the Rom and KDF versions can load dual cannons, but the Fed cannot?

The Fed has a bit less Hull but better Shielding whereas KDF has a bit better Hull but less Shielding. Rom has the lesser amounts of both, but have the Rom Battle Cloak. I'm sure it is all measured out differently in an attempt for balancing.
I really like the designs for the 3 ships so far to me that is the best feature for the ships. I'm never pleased with the spend so much then spend more for a fleet version tactic but it was expected. Whether or not cannons can be used needs to be clarified too. The seating & console arrangement I'm not thrilled about but isn't bad either. The Trait & the power distribution for the 3 ships seem underwhelming & disappointing.
Definitely very sleek designs & well done to the team/person upon that. I want to buy them but given their stats now known I'll probably hold-off till they're on sale since nothing stands-out about them besides good aesthetics.
Klingon ships generally, but not always, have a higher hull. Rom and KDF ships also are usually able to load Dual Cannons. Not a big surprise to me that the Fed ship can't.

I've been told the answer is because the Reliant is a Cruiser, while the other two are a Battlecruiser and a Warbird. It's by design for their specific roles.

You can understand why this doesn't make sense to some people however. The T1 variant can use them, the T6 and thus more advanced version cannot. I personally don't want to use cannons on mine, but I can see why people would, and can see why they should be able too. After all, the T1 light cruiser's been able to use the cannons since 2010.

Well, I like the idea of pilot/Eng ships, so that's definitely interesting at least.
I'm glad that they made these Pilot ships. I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to get any more.

I can live with the fact that the Fed cruiser can't use cannons, but I don't love the Boff seating layout. The Reliant is my favorite canon design so I'll see if I can make it work, but it's not the instant purchase it would have been.

I had no idea that the T1 Miranda could use dual cannons. It's difficult enough (at that low a level) trying to broadside with beam arrays, I can't imagine trying to use dual cannons on that flying brick.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
Do these actually get the pilot maneuvers (barrel roll, etc.) or are these just engineering cruisers with pilot BOff seats?
If the Miranda/Reliant actually has pilot maneuvers that is AWESOME. If not, well, I'm going to buy the ship because I want a T6 Miranda, but there really isn't much going for this ship.
If it doesn't have pilot maneuvers then I won't be spending much time in this ship.

They don't. Only specialist ships (commander spec) have the gimmick of their class. This is not a specialist ship, it's a completely ordinary cruiser.

Pretty nice stats. Though there's a lot going on in my head as to why such small eng vessels have better shielding than most cruisers... One'd think the manoeuvrability would be enough to balance lower hull (and potentially even slightly lower shields).
And as far as the FED on not bein able to use D(H)Cs, it also gets all 4 cruiser commands. It'd get the three battlecruiser commands if it were able to load dual cannons. (Not that I'd be against such an arrangement, quite the opposite, I find it would make quite some sense.)
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

They're not a Pilot ships. My guess as to why they're being called that is because they merely have Pilot-spec BOFF seats, but I understand the confusion.
now i understand that rom and Klingon's get cloaks but why does the fed ships get a +5 sub systems while both rom and kdf get +10 weapons and engines on top of a cloak seems not to balanced to me looks like the fleet Fleet QeHpu’ got the best of the bunch and can load cannons
rommys get Singularity Warp Core 40 Base Power for All Subsystems and + 10 weapons and engines?
seems fed got short and of this stick. maybe im seeing it wrong.

Great looking ship. Meh stats. I was really hope it would be 5/3
Beyond that, It's extremely frustrating that it only has 3 tactical consoles, that you need the Fleet version to get 4. I absolutely despise the whole "Fleet Ship" thing, but it's at least bearable when it's just an extra engineering or science console (especially now that those embassy consoles are nerfed). But making the tactical the one that is missing in the zen store version? That's abominable.
These ships look great but will the T6 Miranda be able to use the Shi'Kahr and Centaur skins? If not can we expect T6 versions of those? If the Miranda is a Cruiser (I.E. Engineer heavy) perhaps a tactical centered Centaur type and a Science heavy Shi'Kahr. Just change the seating as needed.

The Romulan version has the same hull as the Reliant.
