Kit Midules

Got a bunch of kit modules taking up space in my inventory. I know I can upgrade them. Can't find what to do with them after that, the option to equip them isn't highlighted so I can't equip them like I would a Beam Array etc. Do they go to my crew, my ship where? And how do I make that happen, like I said they're taking up a fair amount of inventory slots.

open your captain's equipment page and look directly above your character picture, there should be a row of slots there.

Yeah, on your character's status screen you will see 5 slots above your character's image with the label "Kit Modules". That is where you equip your kit modules, but only ones that are for your captain's career. Tactical captains cannot equip engineer or science specific kit modules.

Also equipping some modules exlude using others - like you can use only one plasma grenade, and cryoplasma grenade counts as plasma one too...
