Welcome to Episodes 126-130 of Let's Play Star Trek Online - Winters Fed Walkthrough.
This series is a complete walkthrough of every aspect of the game - Story Missions, Reputations, DOFFing, Admiralty, BOFFS, Research and Development, Fleets, Crafting and End-Game Content etc. Every player, new and veteran, will find them a valuable source of information, tips and tricks. You may even learn something new! This could be anything from an accolade to a system that you didn’t fully understand or helpful hints on earning in game currencies like Energy Credits or Dilithium.
There will be a brand new episode released every Monday through Friday.
In Todays Episodes:
In this episode we play the story mission "What's Left Behind". The start of this mission takes place on Voyager. While there we have a number of science things. Once we have that complete we then move on to some space combat. This isn't very long and once we have finished that we then beam onto a space station for some ground stuff. Pretty much the remainder of the mission takes place on ground. Pay particular attention to surroundings as it can be very easy to get lost and end up backtracking on where you have already been.
In this episode we play the story mission "Dust to Dust". This mission brings us back to Kobali Prime. The start of the mission has a short space battle but then moves onto ground for the majority of the mission. Although there is a second space portion near the end. The mission does answer some questions and ties up some loose ends that were in the main story. I won't say any more on that as you will see it in the episode. There are also a number of hidden accolades in this mission so any accolade hunters out there may want to pay attention to this when it is mentioned. It is also possible to pick up a special Very Rare Kobali Engineering Bridge Officer. This is shown to us in the episode.
In this episode we play the story mission "Uneasy Allies". Before starting however we spend another 5 spec points that we have built up on a new specialization. We are given a brief explanation as to why we picked the "Commando" specialization over all the others. Once that is done we then begin the mission. The mission reward items for this mission are quite good. It is basically a full Romulan Navy Ground set. Which includes Armour, Shields, Weapon and Kit. During the mission we also come across a hidden accolade so any accolade hunters may want to pay attention to that.
In this episode we play the story mission "Blood of the Ancients". This mission brings us back to the Sol System. Basically there is a conference with all of the major powers to help coordinate an attack plan against the Iconians. In the middle of the briefing we find that New Romulus is under attack and a Fleet is sent to both New Romulus and Starbase 234 which is the closest Starbase. We proceed to Starbase 234 and engage the Iconians. Ultimately we are unable to defend the Starbase and fall back to New Romulus. Once we get there we have another space battle to complete before we can beam down to the planet to help out there. This mission is a little bit more focused on the ground side of things and really does get a little intense at time. Roughly about mid way through the mission we the go to the underground area of the map and we come up against an actual Iconian and not one of their minions. After a brief battle and some running around we then go to another map and again have some more ground combat. Once this is finished we then beam back to our ship and finally have our last battle in space.
In this episode we don't play a story mission but go through a number of different things relating to the Duty Officer System. To begin with we are shown a recap of how the Doff System works and how to level up the 11 different Commendations. We then move on to a very special reward that is unlocked after you get the Diplomatic Rank 4 which is the ability to purchase (for free) an enemy faction Boff. This is very important so do pay attention to this section. After we have finished with the Doff System we then move on to the Reputation System because we have now completed the latest reputation.
