I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

    @sarcasmdetector and @darkknightucf I would also add Attack Pattern Delta to the list of powers to move down a rank. It's a "tanking" power (it even has an aggro doff) and most "tanking" ships can't use APD3.

    Also, while not wanting a nerf to beams and FAW, I would like an expansion to the current meta and boost torpedoes and cannons (maybe, because they just got buffed). I do get sarcasmdetector's point and I agree. I just want a little bit more out of torpedoes and cannons. I'm all for more options.

    Really, though, the bug fixes would go a long way for torps. I know only of the lack of the bonus critD not being applied to cannons when utilizing their BOff abilities, but I'll ask SoB if he can list any others.

    The rest are QoL improvements to help w/ the current gameplay.

    All of the discussion about changing a Boff Ability's rank is kinda moot. We explored the idea previously, while doing the Boff Training Revamp, and determined that it's not really feasible. Not impossible, just... it would be difficult to overstate the enormity of the task, the hoops that would have to be jumped through. In the end, the results have not been deemed worth the time investment.

Not impossible, just... it would be difficult to overstate the enormity of the task, the hoops that would have to be jumped through. In the end, the results have not been deemed worth the time investment.

    Thanks for the response. Could you help us understand what kind of undertaking it would take to go through this ordeal IF it were to be done?

    You get no argument from me on that. It has been demonstrated that it can be done.....

    I notice that we do get new powers in lockboxes, so new powers are another possible solution. So what about alternate powers that are different from rapid fire and scattervolley but modify cannons?

    But I don't presume to know how hard this would be.

    There are certainly other tools in the tool-box to up- or down-tune some of the outliers :). I'll focus my suggestions there.

    How much more time would be needed to change an existing ability versus creating a new one.
