old flagship consoles on new ones?

Hello people,

because the devblog clearly states that the new consoles can be equipped on ANY oddy/borta/scimi class, it made me wonder and kinda nervous lol, would the old consoles ( and their bonus for equipping more then 1 ) also fit on the new ones?

Thing is i love my scimi's current shields while cloacked, and would like to use that console on the new ones if possible....

Anyone knows yet? or is this gonna be announced later?

    From what I've gathered, it'll be a 4-set piece total. The 3 old ones plus 1 of the new ones, as they've stated that you may only equip one of the 3 new consoles at any one time.

    What the real question is, will the 4-piece bonus be the same regardless of which console you pick, or will it be dependent on the kind of console you choose. The latter would be an interesting new take on it, though I doubt the UI is capable of pulling that off tidily.

    so i can not use the new 3 consoles + 1 old one? to archieve 4/4? it says one of those consoles, maybe meaning only 1x tactical flagship computer instead of stacking 3 or something?
    i'm only intrested in keeping my shields while cloacked lol......
    those new consoles seem good tho. so all 3 of those + shields would make me sooooooo happy again :)

    I think you misunderstood it, they said you can only equip one of a specific console at a time. So for example you can only have 1x tactical on the one ship.

    They haven't mentioned set bonuses yet, that'll be in the next blog which will probably hit in a few hours time.

    As for the topic at hand, I imagine the old consoles will work, since you can see the bird of prey and Aquarius visible on the T6 Bort and Odyssey ships respectively. Would be a waste of the designer's time to model them without using them.

    I understood it fine. 3 New consoles. Only 1 of them can be equipped at any given time. Old consoles can still be used on their equivalent T6 versions. Pretty clear indication there'll be a new 4-piece bonus.

    I was actually looking forward to the epic 6 piece set bonus that would have made all the people who already complain about the scimitar as overpowered freak out. The old consoles have to be able to work on the new ships, and quite honestly if only 1 of the new consoles can be used at a time, why would anybody buy the multi packs of the ships?

    All consoles will cross between tiers... this is just a given.

    Yeah, you guys are forgetting... the console from the anniversary ship.

    Not sure yet, because I haven't unlocked the ship yet... but, last year's Samsar console was a part of the Command BCs console set. I would imagine this to be the case with the new Krenim ship, and the new Flagships.

    So, the set bonus is (likely): 3 new flagship consoles + Krenim console, with console synergy with old sets. You can equip the old consoles, but they do not count towards the new bonuses.

    We'll find out soon.

    I would've hoped the krenim console goes with a new science ship Uber pack... i still have hope.

    Wrong - each special console (each special gear actually - weapons, console, even special ground gear) got note in description "only one of it can be equiped" - that is to understand - only one of exactly this piece can be equiped, and one of next piece, and one of next, and....

    So, unless the devs really will state in some blog that we can put only one part of T5 set in new flagship, i believe we will get both sets separate - the old T5 and the new T6. Maybe with additionally the console from Krenim Science ship augmenting the new set like it was with Kobali Samsar and Command Battlecruisers set.

    I don't know about the Aquarius on T6 Oddysey, but i see Bird of Prey docked on the KDF flagship on screenshot, and the Romulan ship got many small emiters on wings (with bright green spots on front ends) - like the ones that open for Thalaron Pulse on T5 Scimitar.

    I really wish we could 3-4 slots just for ship based consoles sorta like traits... Just flag the consoles make them have special color and allow them to be equipped any were as well as these new slots but only they can be in the new slots.

    depending on the bonus, i might go singularity distribution console + eng and tac from new set... not sure yet.
    i hope the science ships get either second deflector or SA.proberly both :P

    Why would you even want to use the old consoles? As it is, giving up valuable console slots for these mostly worthless set pieces is the reason people always crying about low dps and dying all the time. Mediocre consoles and mediocre ships. You are going to need the best consoles u can get per slot to make these ships compete at all.

    Could not say it better myself. Most of the universals these ships come with are a waste of slot piece. Set bonuses are too gimmicky, and not worth the slot itself.

    T5 Consoles can be used on the T6 Flagships if you have them. You can equip all 3 T6 Flagship consoles on any Flagship if you have them. The line that stats "You may only equip a single one of these consoles," means that you can only equip one of any given console.

    The Dev clarification is that there is an older T5 set and a newer T6 set. Either or both sets can be equipped on any flagship, if I understand correctly.

    It's not one big 6 piece set or 3 old consoles plus 1 new like some of the earlier posts in this thread speculated.

    just noticed the stats,to bad they messed the scimi up a bit, would have been nice with a lt cmdr uni/INTEL, so now i cant even go SS/OSS.... ah well. still get some traits with it and some nice consoles. i geuss...

    Why would you even want to use the old consoles? As it is, giving up valuable console slots for these mostly worthless set pieces is the reason people always crying about low dps and dying all the time. Mediocre consoles and mediocre ships. You are going to need the best consoles u can get per slot to make these ships compete at all.

    I use the Oddy with her native consoles and she is a beast. I have no problem achieving high DPS thank you very much.
