As much as i like the Gal-x, and the Oddy or even typhoon, or the Jupiter, but honestly i would love to see a fully new advanced model dreadnaught not seen yet that came out of the Iconian war. Issue with that is the Typhon, Jupiter, Gal-X, even the sovy or oddy as the new expansion is supposed to be more of a exploration than war-time type season arc. Yet if the pack/ship comes out prior to the release of the new season i could see it being a new design as the engineers would have been hard at work to make a new ship/dreadnaught to spear head into the advanced Iconian forces with.

Well somehow I could see them coming out with a dreadnought version of their upgraded Galaxy, the old one getting reskinned is just wishful thinking on my part since they did that for the Galaxy and I don't see it being that much work since they already have the reskinned Galaxy to work with and really the Galaxy Dreadnought is broken, for the life of me I don't get why they are always sidestepping fixing it. That said, I would love to see the Oddy get some love too since it was supposed to be the flagship.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

Could care less for those mentioned here? Why the intended selection unless you biased towards only those ships. How about a defiant, the vulcan healer ship, andorian, or the other lock box ships? I love to see the T6 temporal ones as well.

Well, since the title said "Dreadnought," I imagine that is why they are discussing ships that could have or already have a Dreadnought version. As, for example, I highly doubt there could be a Defiant Dreadnought. (Would be a tight fit for fighters for one thing. :p ) Still, don't worry, beacuse according to "rumours" two of the ships you mentioned are apparently in the pipeline for T6.

As Zephram Cochrane once said, "That'll do, pig. That'll do." - April 1st 2015. o:)

Well in the supposed new stf counterpoint that has a mirror version of deep space nine crossing over into the prime universe from the Mirror, there is what looks like a temperol dreadnaught that has a look very much like the temperol timeships. Also I heard we will be seeing a Defiant t-6 upgrade, but as said a dreadnaught version might be less doable unless we are talking about a dreadnaught in a defiant look but a Dreadnaught scale range that might be interesting. The Undine dread would be interesting to see yet like many of the lockbox ships an non-fed/rom/kdf ships would not be on the c-store, though i would rather see the Vila heavy bioship than the undine dreadnaught myself.

tie it in to the 50th anniversary with a mission where you go back in time to set things straight (featuring Bill Shatner or George Takai or Walter Koenig) and you end up bringing the dreadnought to the future, maybe to preserve the timeline or something

I have made a suggestion or commentity of this sort in a couple of threads before. I hope the DEVs will actually create a new designs because of the war-time. The Defiant was created because of the run in with the Borg when they took Picard.

Two of the ships you mentioned are suppose to be coming during season 11.

The TOS Dreadnaught didn't come from Jefferies, it came from Franz Joseph. And there is still some controversy regarding who owns it, since the Saladin and Hermes was seen in the background computer screens in WoK and SfS, but yet it's said Joseph owns the design.

CBS doesn't own it, so Cryptic isn't going to use the design.

Cryptic could come up with their own version of these ship that slightly different.

Yes, they could. But if they were going to spend time making a new Federation Dreadnaught, they would be making one built in 2410.

I don't think either CBS or Paramount owns the rights. That lies the problem.

One of my favorite designs i had seen done was a fan work i think like this. i like the necelle style of it with the pylon being almost merged with the necelles.

    Colourbrand.deviantart.com/art/Enterprise-F-MY-Version-314876347

The design shown is not mine at all and all rights reserved but you get the design i am talking about i hope.Has a sleek, advanced, and yet modern style that speaks to federation to me yet still mencing kinda like a dread should be.
  • maxvitormaxvitor Member Posts: 2,213 Arc User
We'll have to wait and see what they do, but I really hope that for the Federation, they make it look like a Federation ship and not just another wacky hybridized abomination that could have been pulled from any sci fi franchise.

Well since I can't figure out how to quote anyone in these new forums I'll just say what others have already said. Typhoon and or Jupiter.

Uh, OP didn't put "Typhoon" as an option.

The Typhoon has, unfortunately, been pretty much entirely removed from the game.

I STILL fail to see the allure of the Jupiter class...

    1. It's XBAWKS HUEG. Slightly larger than the Odyssey, to be exact. Just the thing for the discriminating Fleet Admiral to maintain his/her street cred in the Fleet.

    2. It looks mean. Like something that would be carrying a lot of armor, shields, and guns. It fits the 25th Century Starfleet's aggressive foreign policy of "gunboat diplomacy".

    3. It's something different from the same old saucer and nacelles design rehashes.

    4. My original character is now a Level 60 Fleet Admiral. He needs a monster ship to park his TRIBBLE in to look the part while buzzing around doing a captain's job, and being bossed around by uppity junior officers.

What about a new sci dreadnought. A Miranda with 3 nacelles.

Let's call it the Messiah Class

    5/5 weapon slots
    Cmd. tac
    Cmd. sci
    rest universal
5 tac consoles, 5 sci consoles, 1 eng console
    100k hps
    2.0. shield modifier
    sensor analysis

Special trait: Fire at Will Overload. This trait combines the effects of FAW and Overload. Ie. your every FAW hit is guaranteed crit.

Depending on the time period there are several dreadnoughts in the game. The motion picture refit would have been considered a dreadnought in its time due to the massive shield and weapon upgrades to the ship. In the current state of the game this would have to be either a t6 sovereign or a t6 odyssey in the game

What is peoples obsession with sticking a third nacelle on ships? There is one ship in canon that happened to and that ship exists in a potential future that's unlikely to happen.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Interesting design, but there need to be at least 1 Eng Console. I think it would look better with 4 nacelles.

That Messiah class looks interesting though the special/starship trait i think is more of a cruiser or escort/destroy trait than one that would fit a sci-ship or even a sci-dreadnaught. I think it would be better to have a trait that would change/alter how some of thier science abilities work or give them a new effect, like making maybe making gravity well cause all torps (friend and foe) to be drawn to the target of the Gw an deal damage as if they are the target of the Gw. But honestly as i said before i think if you are going to make a Scince themed an focused dreadnaught for the federation, than using the advanced research vessal design over the Miranda.

Captains, I think you need to re-calibrate your ships sarcasm sensors. It was not meant as serious designes, although the dps cultists surely deserve new messiah. The scimitar is kinda old ship :D
