LOL I love it! the attitude of "I wanna use your fleet base like a cheap ***** to get what I want, but I dont want to join you" to funny.

Why would you want to buy the worse version of the worst variant of the odyssey?
Go either with the tac or sci c-store variant and get an upgrade token, with that you'll get a proper cruiser.

Please tell me it's not only for the 1 min slipstream cause just for that it's a gigantic waste of fleet credits.

The question I'd rather ask is:

    Why?

The starcruiser is the prototype of what is in the C-Store. Not only is this only a 9 console ship, it can't even be upgraded. The only unique thing about it is the hull (no Aquarius escort in the back) but you cannot use that on any other Odyssey.

So between it having less consoles, no mastery levels and underpowered stats, why don't you just get a C-Store version that is better from the get-go and upgrade that? This ship is not worth the FCs and the effort to find a fleet on your part, honestly.

i aplogize but i didnt mean to sound rude or to be insulting of any kind
and i cant afford the c-store version of the oddesey so thats why i asked

and i would want the oddesey because of how it looks and not for the one min slipstream and for its stats

Then take your time, grind some dil and get zen via the exchange, though I'd wait for more reasonable exchange rates before actually getting zen.

Srsly, the base ody just sucks and is a dead end.

I would wait to see if they release a T6 version. The Ody is the flagship so it seems likely they would update it to T6 unless they wait until T6.5/T7.

I like the Ody for her beastly size. Imagine the Ody warping in on the big screen with a fleet...she would look massive. I am hoping they give some costume variations if they do release an update. I really want some neck and deflector options on the Ody. I could also do without the Aquarius in the back and replace it with a hanger/shuttlebay.

I have the Andromeda with the Andromeda Saucer and Nacelles the rest is standard Galaxy. It makes it look like she was a Galaxy that went through a 2409 refit. A nice T6 ship, but I do miss my Ody. Waiting patiently, Cryptic.....

When thinking about spending money on the game...the content is free, the expansions are free. If this was WoW, you would have bought several expansions to get up to season 10. If no one bought ships and items, this game would be dead.

This game looks and plays very differently then when it was introduced. Don't let my forum date fool you. I have been here since before Day 1. I have the pre-order items to prove it. A lot of work has gone into the game to make it what it is today.

Actually, several fleets with T4/5 shipyards do provide invites for those who just want to buy a ship, because these fleets are so large and have more provisions than they can use.

I for one, am grateful for the service these fleets provide as I'm in a very small fleet that is growing extremely slowly.

Join the NoP public service channel in game chat and ask.. Theres always fleets willing to help these requests and you'll get a lot less flak..

I dont disagree the ship isnt that great but ive bought retrofits from the fleet store before myself just cuz i liked them regardless of the stats (olympic im talking to you with your sexy dropkicked torpedoes)

This may be the wrong place to post this, but since I'm a "new user" I am unable to actually post a new thread. I've been battling my next ship choice for a while and am set on doing a cruiser for my first build (I'll get to escort eventually...but not yet). The Odyssey seems like the flagship cruiser but many forums tend to favor the Fleet Excelsior or the Fleet Assault Cruiser Refit (Fleet Regent, correct?). Is this only due to the BOFF ranks? I love the look of the Odyssey (and would probably purchase the tac oddy and dump the console) and am absolutely giddy over a possible T6 upgrade. Any comments as to what would make the best choice? Or is this truly splitting hairs?

The boffs staions on the ody are fine, the two universals it has are great. What turns down many people is it's sheer size and lack of maneuverability, it's a flying whale and handles like one. But thanks to the 4th tac console it gets the tac T5U ody sure does pack a punch, though you'd have to purely stick to broadsidieng since it really can't handle anything but beams effectively.

The LtCmdr tactical tends to give ships like the Excelsior and the Regent more punch while still keeping cruiser levels of toughness, particularly the ability to run Attack Pattern Omega 1. The Odyssey is highly flexible with the dual universals however, and CAN be set up to be an offensive powerhouse by setting the universals to tac and running a certain setup, but doing so ends up relatively shorthanded on engineering stuff, and you really need to know your stuff to use it well without dying a lot. (Ultimately its more complicated than JUST a boff seat, but that discussion could go on for pages, but the short version is that yes its a question of seating.)

Personally I adore my Odyssey and if they ever Fleet it up I'll be back aboard on launch day. However in these T6 days, and since you'd be buying a new ship no matter the case, its not really top tier anymore (still damn good, just not TOP tier). Right now, you can get the Eclipse for fast turning, cloaking, and Intel dirty tricks for a real back-alley brawler. The Guardian is a more balanced ship with a lot of flexibility from its paired LtCmdrs, classic styling, and a usage style that works as a very straightforward Hero Ship, nothing super special but no real weaknesses either. Or there's the Presidio with its Command abilities and hangar, good punch, and a crazy-powerful Trait. And of course theres the Andromeda if you're willing to sacrifice a bit of performance (still a solid ship, just the layout gets a little overly-heavy into engineering) but you'd get classic Galaxy looks. If you're going to drop $30 regardless, may as well get a ship with 13 stations and a trait over 12 stations and no trait. They're all good options, it just depends what you want to emphasize.

Yes! A T6 Odyssey, PLEASE! The prettiest, sleek, slick ship in the Fleet. I would just enlarge its current dimensions for the T6 version a bit to make it as its description states, "... is the largest ever created by Starfleet." There should not be a shadow of a doubt that it is the largest. As it stands its only larger by a small margin (almost negligible) comparing it to the Jupiter or Typhoon, and even Galaxy-class.

The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.

As much as I would love to see a T6 Oddy, I doubt it will happen anytime soon. As is, the current Oddy is badly out-classed by the Presidio. The Pres is faster, turns better, hits harder, and can tank just as well, AND has a hangar. You trade in a very slight reduction in shields and hull for that, but the benefits massively outweigh the downsides.

If they did make a T6 Oddy, I'd expect it to keep it's current skin (maybe have some slight variations), but I'd expect a 13th BOff seat and some kind of trait. Also likely are an increase in hull and shields, and POSSIBLY (but not likely) a very slight increase in turn rate. But I'd expect said ship to come out around the same time as a T6 Scimi and T6 Bort, and let's face it, with how insanely strong T5U Scimis are, can you imagine how powerful a T6 one would be?
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Put the Ody next to Voyager or a Defiant...you will realize how massive she is. I agree that the Ody should remain the largest. She is the flagship after all. She should embody the might of the Federation. I don't think they included the Jupiter in that assessment...it is a freak of nature.

I think even she is massive, the design of her is sleeker than a Galaxy so it should have a bit better turn rate. After all, she is one of the fastest ships in slipstream due to design.

When the Ody warps in, the opposition should be scared. Something like..."that is an Odyssey class starship, we are no match for them!" I really think Inspiration powers would be ideal for the Flagship.

meh, why a T6? It is a perfectly fine T5U...definately not the best cruisers out there, but a viable choice none the less as it is.
