Camera zoom bug from Season 6

When the character beams up from the ground to system space or sector space, the camera zooms in very close to the ship. This bug dates back to Season 6 and has been reported several times before.

Camera zoom keeps resetting every map change.

Camera distance resets on map changes
http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=922281

All the tests described in this bug report were conducted on March 4, 2015. The format of the test results is as follows:

A to B: x out of y

This means that the bug was reproducible x out of y times when the player moves from map A to map B. The bug is not reproducible every time, but as you can see from the data below, it was reproducible 59 times out of 70.

Andoria to Andoria System: 9 out of 10
Vulcan to Vulcan System: 6 out of 10
Ganalda Space Station to Ganalda System: 10 out of 10
Drozana Station to Drozana System: 10 out of 10

Starfleet Academy to Sirius Sector Block: 9 out of 10
Klingon Academy to Omega Leonis Sector Block: 9 out of 10
Romulan Flotilla to Tau Dewa Sector Block: 6 out of 10

The bug may occur more frequently on some maps than others. It tends to occur in streaks---reproducible several times in a row and then not reproducible several times in a row.

I had previously thought that warping out from system space to sector space also caused the camera to zoom in on the ship, but I was unable to reproduce this particular issue when I tested it on March 4, 2015. This may change, however, with the sector space revamp.

Andoria System to Sirius Sector Block: 0 out of 10
Qo'noS System to Omega Leonis Sector Block: 0 out of 10
Drozana System to Eta Eridani Sector Block: 0 out of 10
New Romulus System to Tau Dewa Sector Block: 0 out of 10

To reproduce the bug, follow the steps below. Commands given in quotes should be typed without quotes.

1. Log on to Sarine@frtoaster.
2. Go to the Andoria System.
3. Type "/camdist 150" into the chat window.

4. Type "/ui_save_file ui_test.txt" into the chat window. On my computer, the command /ui_save_file saves the file to the following directory by default:

C:\Games\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online\Live

The location of your file may be different.

5. Open the file ui_test.txt. Look for a section named "Scheme Space Stospacegameplay", and within that section, look for a variable named iCamDistance.
6. Verify that the value of iCamDistance is 150. If iCamDistance is not 150, then close the file, save the file again using "/ui_save_file ui_test.txt", and reopen the file. Sometimes, you need to save the file twice in order to see the changes.
7. Beam down to Andoria and then beam back up the Andoria System.
8. Repeat step 7 until the camera zooms in very close to the ship.

9. Close the file ui_test.txt. Then, type "/ui_save_file ui_test.txt" again into the chat window.
10. Reopen the file ui_test.txt. Look for a section named "Scheme Space Stospacegameplay", and within that section, look for a variable named iCamDistance.
11. Read the value of iCamDistance. It is 35 now instead of 150.
12. Go to the Sirius Sector Block outside the Sol System.
13. Type "/camdist 150" into the chat window.

14. Repeat steps 4 through 6.
15. Enter the Sol System. Beam down to Starfleet Academy and then beam out to the Sirius Sector Block.
16. Repeat step 15 until the camera zooms in very close to the ship.

17. Repeat steps 9 through 11.

Reading all that, I can confirm frtoaster certainly isn't the only player experiencing this.

I've been experiencing this bug as well. (Maybe I even filed some bug reports back then after season 6.)

What I have noticed is that this bug occurs less reliably after several ground map changes before beaming up to system space (IE: With your camera distance set further out of your ship in Sol system, first beam down to Starfleet Academy --> then beam to the Earth spacedock --> then beam to Sol space. There's higher chance your set camera distance will remain.) or when first logging in on a character on ground after launching the game and beaming up (I think that if exiting the game from a ground map, then launching the game and logging in that same character, I've actually always ended with my own set camera distance upon beaming in system space. It would require more testing to be sure, though.).
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!
