He could swing and miss hard if he tries to hit Nick. now assuming its skin is as hard as space marine armor, as you saw in that video, even if it didn't instantly turn that marine into mush, it still pierced his armor. meaning that Nick might still pierce the skin and get into that highly important lobe to damage it even a bit.)
