IDW to release the ORIGINAL City on the Edge of Forever

You ever wanted to see what "City on the Edge of Forever", the classic episode featuring the Guardian of Forever, could have been if the original script was used?

Here's your chance!

IDW is releasing a five-issue mini-series this June showing off this wonderful What-Could-Have-Been. Apparently, this was something that had been planned on since the company got the licence and now they got the chance!

    Just curious...if the original screenplay was better, why was it not filmed instead?

    Because "better" is a relative term. Harlan's original script apparently involved Enterprise crew members involved in drug smuggling, and taking a crewman to the planet's surface to carry out an execution. It was good enough to earn Harlan a Hugo for Best Original Screenplay; it just wasn't, in essence, Star Trek.
