Thing is, I'm more into science but didn't care for the Dyson Science Destroyers. I'd like to see something like a sci-escort Scout hybrid and a hull like that would be cool.
Not for the cheese... I just happen to like sci vessels that can actually turn well enough to use their abilities and that can optionally mount cannons. It wouldn't have to have escort level firepower... I picture the loadout being a lot like the Aventine variant of the Vesta, but without the hangar.

STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
This looks like a very thoughtful Starfleet design. Great job.
Some of the escape pods seem to be causing odd shading here and there where they intersect the ship. But overall I like it and can't wait to see where you take it from here!
Are you referring to how the model geometry is influencing lighting?

After looking at it a second time - those nacelles at their current angle would work "really well" under the saucer. Have you tried any other permutations?
