Warp Cores?

twamtwam Member Posts: 0 Arc User
New information release always leads to more speculation and over-the-top analyses of minor bits of text. So, let's.

"Push the engines to the limit and unleash the new and devastating powers of the Singularity Core."

I get the feeling we will be getting Warp Core slots, from that line.

I know this has come up on these forums before, so it wouldn't be completely out of the blue. Also, Geko started a discussion about Armor slots, so that might be an indication that equipment slots are a point of attention in the current development cycle.

If this is true, the Singularity Core would appear to be a Romulan faction item, but there'd clearly be various options and variants available to everyone, based on other equipment. It would be a nice addition to the potential for customisation and specialisation already present in the starship system.

What do you guys read into that? Or do you call over-interpretation?

I believe that they are indeed happening.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Could also be the Romulans' 'unique thing', though I'd rather we all get warp cores :o

Warp core slots would be a nice addition.

or they could just be using that as a saying, considering romulans use singularity's as their cores :D

I would say manuvering thruster would help even better especially for those cruiser Capts.

 that would be... cool

Are you suggesting in place of warp cores or an addition? :P

they would have to rework things for maneuvering thrusters. im pretty sure some engines have these already. since some engines read (note: paraphrasing a little)"use of maneuvering thrusters when engines are offline at 20% engine speed."

It would be an addition much like StarFleet Command 3.

One of the things I've always wanted in a space sim, is for weapon and thrusters to share the same hardpoints, so you could increase agility at the expense of firepower and vice-versa. The only space sim I've ever played that got close to that was Escape Velocity... enough of a /derail though

    I can see it now...

Thruster evasive maneuver - shift to the left/right of incoming fire :P

Not much of a derail as it's relevant to the conversation :) this would be epic, and can't believe I never thought of it myself lol
