You design powers and abilities? I have a request. Gorn NPCs can tear chunks out of the floor and throw them.

I wish to be able to do this.

    Greetings, Captains!

My name is Jeff "Adjudicator Hawk" Hamilton - you can call me Hawk for short, if you prefer. :) Some of you may know me as Arbiter Hawk from Paragon Studios, where I was a Systems Designer on City of Heroes for the past two years.

I hail you now from the Systems Design team here on STO, working on exciting new powers, enemies, items, ships, and more! I've been reading various threads in the forums about your wants and hopes for the game, but I figured it was time to stop lurking and come join the conversation - so feel free to use this thread to talk about enemy groups you really enjoy fighting, ships you love seeing, or just a greeting if you want. I won't be able to reply to everyone, but I'll be reading all your input, and I look forward to meeting you all.

    Signing off for now,

    -Adjudicator Hawk

    Welcome aboard!

First, the automatic question for every Cryptic dev:
    What's your twitter?

    Now, to the feedback:

As general feedback to the systems team, I would say that in general, science ships seem to be a bit underpowered compared to engineering and tactical ones. When I notice it most is when I play a mission solo since the debuffs, etc ... really help a lot other classes but I feel the sci ships have no punch of their own.

Or, er, the Klingon Defense Force?

    Romulan Star Empire, maybe?

Hey, you're welcome as long as you're not here to assimilate me.

Looking forward to interacting with more Devs :)

    Just a tip: There would likely be -considerably- less "flamery" if you guys quit adding so many grind mechanics and currencies, and started adding real content such as Episodes;

    Season 6 (no story content)
    Season 7 (no story content)

Season 8 is promised new story content, but that remains to be seen. And by then, it's been almost a full year since Season 6 was released. Last "story" content, was the Cardassian Feature Episodes, which ended in March of this year. Unless you include the 1-off KDF mission 'Alpha' which was released in April. So after 3-4 seasons with an "anemic" amount of story content, you should expect people to be atleast a litle cranky.

(Romulan "Tier" missions are not story, since you are mostly an observer of the content, and not a participant.)

I'm Tier 4 on New Romulus, working my way towards Tier 5, thank you very much.

Care to direct me to additional STORY content, besides the SINGLE missions associated with Tier 1, Tier 2 etc?

On the contrary, I've been working hard on it. And since each tier unlocks new missions and advances the story...we have story content.

Points off for not completing the 'F' alliteration. And hive implies social organization and unity of purpose, which does not quite capture the quirks of the Community. :D

Care to list which "new missions" are unlocked at each tier?

I'm at Tier 4, heading towards Tier 5, and i've unlocked exactly... 4 missions. The first one being the most ridiculous, with only overviewing the contents of some datapad. I'm curious if there are more than "just" these 4 missions, if i'm missing out on stuff.

And no, the "dailys" don't count (which includes the unlocked "instances" at each tier).

And why shouldn't the dailies count? They continue the story, don't they?

    Welcome Hawk :)

    To Hawk,

Over the 3 years "almost" that STO has been around, my science abilities have been nerfed to almost a non-existent tickle on the sides of cruisers and escorts...

you're working on new powers *thumbs up* but can you return my science abilities to thier ancient original form? pweeezz!

Or can you turn tactical skills like scatter volley, beam overload and rapid fire into a nice cuddly hug against my shields?

    *giggles profusely*
