consistant dcs

I am consistently dcing at exactly 8mins and 30sec after every hour for 2 days now. It is not on my end my internet is stable, and my husband is playing a different game and he is not dcing from his game. I have restarted my computer. My computer is clean of all viruses and malware, I defragged 2 days ago. I updated the graphic drivers, and direct x is updated as well. Only the game is dcing arc is also stable. I am not crashing, I get the pop up "disconnected from server, try logging on again?" I push yes, but do not log back on I instead get sent to the log in screen. And since the game is now locked into arc, I cannot log in from the log in screen, I instead have to close the game and reopen in arc. These dcs are preventing me from doing any instances or playing with my faction. Please have china fix this issue asap. I am a programmer and I can tell you that it is probably an error in the code for the maps. This occurred for me when I ran a server of perfectworld, (the released legal version from 2010) when I tried to integrate maps from another game, I got one line of code wrong and the maps would crash every hour. This appears to be the issue I am experiencing. I can post up the error log of the game translated if that helps, but I cant for he life of me remember where and what the file is called in the client.

Computer specs:

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit fully updated
Asus Sabertooth 990x fx r2 motherboard
16 gigs kingston ddr3 ram
8 core amd 3.4MHz processor
2 nvidia 960 graphic cards

Please run a trace route to the server.

Your end may be fine, the server end us fine as far as we can tell. Odds are it's something between you and the server.

The sticky thread has more info and help on this issue.

    Thanks.

Here is the data from trace and ping. The second one is for twilight temple and the ping, as I play on twilight temple server.

Yeah, once you his hop 8, your data goes to ****. Looks like basically once your signal leaves Australia it is going to have an issue. I mean, think about the distance you have connecting to a server on the East Coast US. You're guaranteed to have issues. Especially if your data has to travel through the Philippines. Once you finally manage to hit the international hub in San Francisco your signal latency is too high to be valid.

Dude I have been playing this game for 8 years in Australia and never had this issue, this only started happening since the last update. Prior to this update my ping in game was on average 300-400. It still is currently. The dcs are at the exact same time every hour, and lag does not happen prior to the dc, I dc at exactly 8mins and 30sec after every hour, doesn't matter if I just logged on 5 mins prior or an hour prior. Your logic is flawed as the one for twilight temple server, which is the server I play on, did not exceed 224ms, that is a damn good connection, considering I am on the other side of the planet. I have programed this game, I was able to integrate maps from a different game into pwi, I know how this code works. I am not the only one with this issue either, I world chatted about it and had 5 other people tell me they are having the same issue, all of them except 1 live in the US, the other lives in the UK. Yes I lag sometimes, but this is NOT due to lag, this is something else, it is an error in the client. When I lived in Washington state I sometimes had extreme lag, if this issue was due to lag then the dc times would be random, it would not happen at the exact same time after every hour every time. Please tell me the name of the file that has the error logs in it and I will translate it and find out what the issue is. I can't remember what the file is called as it has been years since I ran the pwi server.

Congratulations on programming 'this' game ! :D

To get a bit back on topic: if I log on to Twilight Temple I always am between 200ms and 300ms; and yup I'm on an other part of the globe too. You wrote about a map error but this should be on all servers. To see if Twilight Temple has a problem with it I logged in on that server and was online for several hours on the main map. Couldn't see the other maps since I didn't do the rebirth-thingy but also didn't get a dc while in the main map. Also didn't see anyone complaining on world chat. So at the moment I have no clue why you get multiple dc's while thinking it would be an error in PWI's 'elementclient' source. The problem with dc's I had in the past was due an update of Comodo Internet Security. Every time I needed to unblock PWI (sometimes multiple times a day) but in the end I just removed the software from my computer. So maybe you could check the different processes that are running while Arc and PWI are active.

The only error log I know is AF.log. I.d.k. if PWE uses this but my log was created on 05/26/2019 and only contains a message that the log file is closed successfully. The file can be found in element/reportbugs/logs. There's also a logs folder in the elementfolder that contains AF.log however this looks like an old file that isn't used anymore. But even with a log (and decompiling of elementclient) it wouldn't help much.

"You wrote about a map error but this should be on all servers."

Who says it is not? Just because noone has reported the issue doesnt mean it isnt happening. The majority of people dont even bother to report issues, as pwe cant do anything about it anyway, and most of the time the issue is blamed on the user. Not everyone experiences the same errors and glitches, computer configuration, windows version, programs installed, etc all can have an impact on what glitches and issues a person experiences. Having run a pwi server you learn this quickly, when I was integrating the maps from the other game not all of my playerbase experienced the map crash, so does that mean it wasnt happening just because it didnt happen to everyone? No, it just means that for some users the incorrect code was an issue for them, but not for others. I also stop all nonessential programs when running pwi, my firewall which I built myself goes into silent mode and pwi is among the programs it does not interfere with, my virus protection also goes into silent mode and does not interfere with pwi. I do not run one of those internet security programs as they interfere with alot of things and can cause your browser and internet to crash, my firewall does the exact same thing an internet security program does, only it doesnt interfere with anything, other then of course the things that it is suppose to.

I will look at the logs and see what I can see. In the meantime this issue needs to be relayed to china for further investigation. If china wants the logs I can certainly send them in a ticket or email, I am hesitant to use the ticket system as it tends to get either completely ignored or you get employees that talk down to you and blame it on the user, which is exactly what has also happened on the forums. And pwe wonders why people dont report issues, maybe it has something to do with the fact that pwe staff are rude and condescending, and blame the user rather then actually trying to investigate the issue. I understand that pwe really cant fix anything, because they dont own the rights to the game, but that does not mean they cannot investigate and relay the issue to china.

On another note due to the fact that I have made a new tech char, I was going to put $100 into the game possibly more in the coming weeks, but because of this issue I will not be putting my money into this game. If I cannot play without dcing every hour then my money will stay in my bank. Until this issue is resolved I will not be spending money on this game.

There's also something like EEE or Energy Efficient Ethernet; a power reduction. Sometimes people have this active but if it's on, a dc can happen if there's nothing to transmit.
