  • Even this only seems to work sporadically. There is probably a specific reason why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but 2/3 of the time when I do this, it doesn't work. I don't know what "magic" I am performing to clear out that flag sometimes and not others.
  • Well, I'm VIP, and I have never "bought" keys directly and never will, but to me the point isn't that the house is always winning, it is that I keep getting the same thing. At least with other lock boxes, when I was not a big winner I at least got a wider variety of items. But with this lock box, it's almost all…
  • One mob at a time? Where in this game, other than bosses (which now spawn deadly numbers of adds in many places), are there mobs grouped less than 3 at a time?
  • Yep. Ignore the adds and stay on Vansi, and watch a dozen adds burn everyone down and wipe the party.
  • Removing gear should always make you weaker. Gear with higher stats in all the same categories should always make you stronger. This system utterly annihilates these concepts, which are not only the core to D&D style progression, but just plain common sense. If scaling is applied -- and I am OK with it if done right -- it…
  • Yes. The bosses don't tend to be all that hard, even now. The adds they spawn are anywhere from annoyingly persistent and ubiquitous, to downright deadly even for geared and experienced players. I like that lower level dungeons can't be one-shotted by high level players any more, and that some of these fights actually…
  • Sounds like everyone saw CoDG and bailed on it before you even saw them.
  • It's actually all levels now, too, not just REDQs. In reality, I'd just like to see random queues more random. Even the regular RDQs now wind up being Cloak Tower 3/4 of the time. And the recent combat changes have made that one the worst.
  • Another thing I've noticed since the changes is that the RDG is almost ALWAYS Cloak Tower. The lowest level dungeon in theory, and the perhaps hardest RDG in reality (particularly the adds on the last boss) since the changes. It's a wonder why I bother any more, other than trying to pick up some rAD.
  • I think the new combat system and scaling that made the lower level zones MUCH harder also made Avernus easier. The "ape" encounter is embarrassingly easy now compared to what it was just over a week ago. Avernus is, in some ways, easier for decently geared level 80 characters to quest solo than doing Cloak Tower with five…
  • I could live with a system where better gear in lower level content had diminishing returns. That is, much better gear could be a LOT better at level, but only somewhat stronger at lower level zones. This would at least prevent many groups from just facerolling over everything and one-shotting everything in sight, and…
  • At least in the Well of Dragons and possibly elsewhere, some Black Dragonclaw mobs (one dot) are fairly easy to knock down UNTIL they receive a buff (which makes them appear larger), at which time they become almost impossible to kill.
  • It looks to me that it only applies the bolster bonus to one of the stats. In your case: (657 * 1.095) + 657 = 1376. Looks like it only applies the bonus to the combat power. When I equip an 1,890 combat power and a 756 equip power to my 26% bolster, I get 3,137: (1890*1.26) + 756 = 3137. When I use a 756 combat power and…
  • I did a random today where a level 46 healer did twice the damage as a level 80 DPS. Of course, in this case I think the latter was out to lunch.
  • I am trying and trying and following the directions but fish get away every time, after the status bar advances about halfway. is there some trick I don't know?
  • And not just end game. Experienced level 80 groups are dying in the freaking Cloak Tower and in Cragmire. It is taking a lot of work, a lot of time, and a lot of potions to survive it, and it’s just not worth the rewards they give.
  • The boss isn’t bad, actually. It’s the adds. They are much tougher to kill than before, and the longer the fight goes, the more adds come. When I did it earlier today, when we finally burned the boss after multiple deaths, there were probably 20 adds in there. Anyone who tries to revive a player who is down will quickly…
  • One thing I do like about increased difficulty at lower levels is that it can return tactics and strategy to even low level dungeons. Most random queues have that person or people that just facerolls and one shots almost everything. There is no strategy in the boss fights — just burn them down in a small number of shots.…
  • Just ran Cloak Tower with a 30K level 80 tank. We finished it, but wiped on the last boss a couple times. The boss himself is not that bad. The adds are beyond insane. It seems like the lower the "level" of the dungeon, the more ridiculously scaled up the trash is. Higher level dungeons feel easier than lower level ones…
  • Still needs work. I did a random dungeon with my cleric (level 80, item level about 28k, 20k before the changes) and got Cragmire with four others who were all less than level 25. I have healed Cragmire dozens of times and no one ever died. It was bad enough that it took almost all I had to survive the first few waves of…
  • Yeah, this I have a problem with. I understand changing combat and the underlying stats, but if it means someone is no longer able to access content they used to have, it's a problem. A couple of my toons in my all-too-large stable of alts (I'm an altoholic) found that out, too. And I had a formerly 21K (now 28K) warlock…
  • This I agree with. Many times the dragon went down in 2 seconds before some folks who had been waiting for minutes could get a shot off. It rarely happened to me, but I've seen it and it is discouraging. I think I will like the new system just fine once the kinks are out of it and the scaling is fixed. There are packs of…
  • The funny thing is, many lower level mobs are killing me now (or making me guzzle potions) with harder hitting and insane combat advantage, but I've run the "ape" BHE a number of times today, and it feels badly nerfed -- its hardest attacks are hitting me for like 50k instead of over 100k and no one is dying. So I don't…
  • > @buckstanza said: > Well, they certainly screwed this patch up. mobs i was having no problem killing are one shotting me... i've got one toon that can't get out of the safe area with out dieing and last nite it had no trouble with groups.. > Major fubar... Yep. I went to a minor heroics in the River District, something…
  • Good time for a 2x profession event. I'll spend the week working those up while I wait for combat to be fixed. I appreciate a challenge, but lower level content that used to be easy to solo should not be killing experienced groups. Seems like a good time to craft a lot of healing potions.
  • Routine weekly maintenance is generally scheduled from 7-9 AM Pacific Time, and in reality it usually doesn't take much more than an hour -- usually back by about 8:15 AM. But when a lot of code is moving, as with this one (let alone February 9), expect several hours even if the original estimate says less. Again, that is…
  • Yes, the EUT has changed from 9:00 to 9:30 and now to 10:00. This happens with almost every game when there is a significant update with code changes more substantial than a few bug fixes. It's not just this one -- it's all of them. When there is a lot of code being changed, expect the original EUT to be *way* too…
  • Updated to 9:30 10:00. Not surprising with any MMO any time there is a significant code change. Maybe I'll check back tomorrow.
  • Until this morning I had almost no issues. But right after the latest patch, I am freezing a lot, and occasionally crashing after a freeze.
  • Anyone else suddenly experiencing occasional client crashes since this patch rolled out? I never used to, and I've had three today.
