  • A number of us reported this in alpha, though it seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Presumably because those ears were made deaf due to hearing "THE ONLY GOOD BANDIT IS A DEAD BANDIT" over and over again.
  • My bad, I didn't realize one image with a cape touching the floor invalidated all twenty-five pages. I'm also not sure what you mean by "round figures", but there are plenty of different body types represented. Check out pages eight, nine, seventeen, nineteen and various others if you're looking for examples on…
  • May have been linked already, but if not: Women Fighters in Reasonable Armor For reference. There are some exceptional examples in there, please make the art team study them. :)
  • Yeah, cloth physics are a mess. Even simple motions like turning around will make them clip through you. It's rather odd since Star Trek Online runs on more or less the same engine, and I've never seen such issues with capes/skirts/aprons in that game.
  • There is definitely a "rush to 60" mentality in the design. Something I complained about endlessly in alpha was the insane cost of item transmutation, especially if you're trying to carry over the look of something you've already paid to dye. Unfortunately, despite taking the time to make a thread crunching the numbers and…
  • Hoping the cape has a cat paw print logo on it. I can see my halfling cleric of Sheela Peryroyl wearing something like that. Nice to see the devs sharing the laughs about the cat situation, and the pack is a nice gesture in general.
  • The gift pack should contain equippable pitchfork and torch items for the adorable angry forum mob. Maybe even bring over the STO "KHAAAAAAAAAN!" emote to express unbridled rage. If we want to get even fancier, perhaps a whole new class, the "Reddit Wizard of Thay". They'll have a special illusion spell to alter their…
  • Every MMOG I've ever played has at some point had their official forums peppered with arm-flailing posts about the game dying. Curiously, none of them are actually dead, not even the ones I played eight years ago. ;) Also, I'm quite happy to see action taken against the exploiters.
  • I admit it, I laughed. As a side note, the in-game representation of the Intellect Devourer creeps me out. Especially the big ones.
  • Thank you! :D Your timing is excellent, as my alt is a level and a half away from gaining her riding ability. Seems likely that the big preview images are wrong, and the small ones are correct for all three.
  • Still waiting on a response to my GM ticket about this issue, submitted the question three days ago. Hope to find out soon, I'll post and clarify as soon as I know.
  • Yeah, I was worried about that. I'm sure at least a handful of folks have bought one of the green mounts, though whether they'll see this post is another matter entirely. I suspect that the Amnian Horse is the one I want, since the big preview images weren't added until late in testing, but I have no way of knowing for…
  • Halflings? Worst race? Them's fightin' words.
  • I was wondering about this. I did several contests in the Whispering Caverns zone, placed in the copper bracket each time and got nothing but rank 1 items (not much incentive to participate when you're 60), but hadn't yet tested it against other areas.
  • If they're like seasons in Star Trek Online, the quests and new adventure areas will be free, accompanied by paid stuff matching the "theme" like new lockboxes and Zen market stuff. However, I've not seen any official word on what modules will be like, so comparing them to STO seasons is just a guess.
  • I have a theory that some of the voices are intentionally way over the top as a tribute to DMs doing silly voices in tabletop games. Old Lenn is a shining example; whoever voiced him makes your average character actor look like the pinnacle of subtlety in comparison. "MAH CHYEEAAUUST!"
  • It's actually just the peasant garb you get from the "Rags to Riches" quest after the tutorial. :) Both pieces have been dyed with harvest dye kits to look a bit less grungy.
  • Nice. :) Hopefully we can nail down exactly when the game allows this to happen. In my case, after successfully dying a weapon once, neither dragging to the slot nor selecting from the list works on subsequent attempts. Clearly the weapons are designed to be dyed, yet there's a hard-coded message that says "weapons cannot…
  • Okay, making this even more peculiar, having logged out and back in again (even though I tried that once before), it let me dye the second dagger. But again, after dying it once, it suddenly decides no weapons at all can be dyed. Not that I'm complaining as this solves my problem, but this bug makes no sense.
  • Alas, indeed. :( Tried swapping slots, unequipping and changing from the inventory, sticking them in the bank, etc.
  • Sure, give me a few and I'll get some screens. My assumption (reasonable, I thought) was that the transmutation feature gives you the exact look of the new item, i.e. if you take a dyed item and transmute to a new non-dyed one, the dyes go away, since it's absorbing the full appearance of the new model. This is apparently…
  • If you'd been annoyed by ten years of a persistent and in-your-face trend in a hobby you otherwise enjoy, and every time you tried to discuss it in forums meant for discussion, you got the same sort of dismissive responses and mockery illustrated here (including this oh-so-lovely response of yours), I bet you'd find it all…
  • Right, the "SWERVE! Poster irked by sexism is actually horribly sexist" reply. Thanks. I knew I was forgetting one.
  • We've reached the "logic versus magic to justify stripperplate" stage of the conversation, I see. Have we missed anything? Did we have the requisite "female poster isn't bothered, so let's point to her as a real woman representing the hive mind collective" reply yet? I should start keeping a checklist for these things.
  • Every thread where the sexism and equality issue pops up has gone exactly the same way since time immemorial. Keep on obliterating that strawman, keep shouting about prudishness, keep pretending players who talk about these issues are championing some harebrained cause to limit your options and BAH GAWD take away your…
  • Just because this game isn't Tera with stiletto heels and fetish wear doesn't mean it's sort of progressive MMO with equality in armor design. Female armor designs are still obviously sexed up compared to the male versions and it's really easy to see. Between alpha testing and live, I've leveled three classes to near 60…
  • There have been thousands of forum posts about sexist armor designs in MMORPGs (largely because hey, it's a big issue), and within those thousands of posts, there have been thousands of replies of the "don't be a prude, don't censor my game, take your overly PC attitudes elsewhere" variety, and they remain the same…
