  • I am more interested in the why. Why are they doing this, don't know who is this supposed to impress or what it is trying to prove.
  • There is grind, and then there is there is a grind that only 100 can achieve, because they are grinding (ahem botting) close to 24/7. You can't seriously expect the game to create content that 99.9% of players have zero chance of ever getting.
  • Even if the entire party understands the mechanics, if the curse comes at the wrong time, somebody will die. It really is inexcusable that they create these weekly challenges that probably 99% will never end up doing, the grind for those Zariels is bad enough, but this is just rubbing salt in the wounds.
  • I assume that Cryptic does not have the time/money to do this. Perhaps one way to approach this is to have some Turkish players to volunteer to do the translation work and thus take the load off the paid staff.
  • I can't understand why they did not add this to the professions like some of the other events. It would have been an ideal addition to alleviate the huge grind.
  • While I don't doubt there a fair number of bots in the game, would the people that are making the top list really be stupid enough to be running bots? One would think that producing these massive amounts would have them scrutinized by the company.
  • I need to add that this has shut out a lot of players who usually mostly can play on the weekend. Did the developers design this for the hardcore grinders and bot farms only, because for anyone else this is a slap in the face.
  • Agree with this, except that perhaps that the 90% is more like 99% of the player base is not doing TOMM or Zariel. Whatever the exact number is, it is clearly too restrictive and shutting out too many players. One cannot argue that one needs new challenging content, that motivates players to improve, when the content is so…
  • If they capped the power stat, like a lot of the others stats, then this is something that can be balanced. This will cause the problem that it will end the incentive to invest in ever newer items and upgrading enchantments, but there are other ways for the whales (and casuals) to buy stuff, it does not always have to be…
  • Going back to the title, it is safe to assume that hunting for these treasure maps is not enjoyable for most players. That being the case, just don't spend time looking for them. Weapons don't last, it is better to farm for things like insignia powder or finish all your campaigns if you have not yet, both are more fun and…
  • Since most of my PUGs were when I was playing playing cleric I was playing normal mode, and thus this change is honestly not a big problem, people need to get a grip and accept the fact that the last few mods were not good game design nor were they enjoyable game play. The introduction of the Paladin was arguably the worst…
  • With regards to gear, the Holy Avenger is more useful now that we don't have to praying all the time, and the extra heals it gives are always useful.
  • This is why I believe they need to hard cap damage, if they can do it for things like defense why not for dps? By not doing this you have this ever present gap between the BIS brigade and the rest, which means lots of players leaving because of the unrealistic grinding or monetary expenses needed to get there. If they used…
  • I have resigned to the fact that if you play archer you will be permanently hobbled (this has been the case since mod 3). I just wish they could tell us why they do this all the time? I can only think they use the argument that because it is a ranged class they have an advantage over those that need to get close to the…
  • It is more accurate to have the title called just "Ground rules". Whatever class you play it helps if one understands how the enemies all work. One would think this can be taken for granted but too many times one sees people treating everything as a speed run never moving, never bothering with anything other than spamming…
  • People seem to forget that this is supposed to be a Dungeons and Dragons themed game. Despite all the problems, broken design, game metas that the self declared "experts" say we should follow - the guiding principle in how this game should be played and developed is Dungeons and Dragons. The further it gets from this, the…
  • A bit off topic (but not too much), why are people who picked the cleric wanting to play the dps role in parties? Is this what you had in mind when started your character? If you prefer playing dps over healer, why not pick a class that is meant to be a dps, the dps role should be used for solo content, these numbers are…
  • All in all, long overdue, but welcome. You must forgive me if say I am very skeptical of this, every time they promised an archer overhaul things got worse. However I REALLY hope that I am wrong on this because the archer is the weakest now than its ever been, and that is saying a lot because it has been generally the…
  • Is the archer not going to get a boost in the next mod? That being the case the state of the archer should have less complaints I hope.
  • This is very class dependent. If you don't have big dodges you will get stun locked and death is guaranteed. If you don't have big aoe or big cc then you will be overwhelmed.
  • Does anyone know if the critical heal mechanics has changed with mod 17? I say this because I have come across some videos saying something changed, but what exactly is not known, or is this just rumours?
  • Will try this out. What is your average paingiver ranking in relations to others, how much more damage do the others do normally?
  • I already made a comment on this in general discussion thread, so will quickly say that nothing is viable at this point. The best one can do is to do the solo content and the intermediate dungeons, anything more and the archer will be a burden to the party.
  • The ranger archer is easily the weakest dps class of them all. The only class you will beat in paingiver is healing support (even beating tank roles is not a given) if stats are more or less equal. At best you will do about half damage than the best dps in most PUGS. I don't think anyone was demanding that playing ranged…
  • The other party needs to take some responsibility as well, they cannot just keep ignoring all the high damage and stand there hoping that you have to heal whatever is thrown at them. I have seen this in plenty PUGS, when they inevitably start saying "you are a bad healer" then do not accept this and tell them what they are…
  • I think its worth playing, the changes to the game mechanics were sorely needed, now dungeons such as TONG are much more balanced and enjoyable to play.
  • Still trying to figure out what works best for a tank but here are some of the things I found. 1 Yes people need tanks, things like master demogorgon and the arcolith need someone to protect the rest. 2 HP by far, defense should not be hard to max (because tanks already get a defense boost) and high stamina regeneration is…
  • It was always a fun class to play, just because one does not make it to number one on paingiver does not cancel this fact.
  • Overall I am happy with these changes, they had to happen, the alternative of leaving the increasingly unbalanced mess was the worst possible thing to do. Having said that, there are always gripes, for me clerics should not be outhealed by warlocks, but hopefully with the new system it will be easier for the developers to…
  • Very good news. I just hope they get completely get rid of that stupid power share mechanic and make the cleric what it was supposed to be - a healer. All these years of hoping that the cleric will become a cleric again, how can anyone who likes playing the cleric archetype not be happy with this? For all those complaining…
