Artificer's workshop (reputable)

I'm playing on PS4 trying to do the day of the dungeon master, doing the quest mentioned above, after fighting the mindflayer, the loot chest and exit portal appears but you can't access the chest or leave without quitting the quest. This has happened to me 3 times now and I can't progress any further
