    well it would have been nice to know what changes were made etc for testing to make sure what is working correctly and what was broken due to the update

    This is why testers need to keep their own notes. If you've tried stuff and found bugs, after each patch go and try them again to see if they have been addressed. If not, submit it, or re-submit it based on your latest test.
