Reminder of Post-Release Downtime

As most, but maybe not all are aware, the Foundry experiences a period of downtime following a module update/release. The longevity of this period is uncertain.
Though the period after Omu was relatively brief, we have had extended periods in the past. Do not panic, be patient, the editor will return after the quest library finishes re-publishing all existing quests.

im sorry for bumping a post but i can't figure out how to make a new one. is this why im not able to acess the foundry now even though im lvl 49?

I hope it is temporary, I am new to the foundry and have become totally absorbed, I have just started my second quest for my campaign and boom option gone...hope it does not take too long

It's temporary, although the longevity of the down time can vary because of non-Foundry issues. Everything should be as you left it, but it may be a good idea to run through any published content to check when things come back. We've had outages last months, but there was an underlying issue attributed to the republishing process.

Thank you for clarifying, I was just about to post a question on the average length of time the Foundry is usually down for after a new release, I guess there is nothing for it but to wait.

Length of downtime has always varied. Just keep checking, and someone will post here probably when it is back up.
And yes, auron, that would be awesome if we did. Seeing chult assets gave me hope, because it'd been longer than I care to admit since the assets before that.

Quest library began re-publishing, it would seem after this past week's maintenance. If all goes well it shouldn't be much longer and everything will be back up, hopefully.

There appears to be a very large issue with the Foundry, it finally came back up and I went in to try to finish Chapter 7 of my campaign, the final chapter.

However when not in 3D build mode I cannot type at all in any of the windows, I cannot type where you name your quest, search for details, type info or name an npc etc. Nothing will register when I hit the keys.

I went into 3D build mode and I can type in the chat space fine to speak to other Authors, but if I click the control box of a placed item after activating build mode, I cannot change the name of the npc etc. It ignores the chat window and instead treats it as though I pressed C for example to open my character sheet.

This means as of right now it is not possible to work on or complete any Foundry quests at all.

Please try to fix this as soon as possible since we have already waited well over 1 month for it's return...

Logging out and then back in does not fix the issue, I've tried that, and it was to no avail. I even tried exiting out of the game completely and returning, and the issue still remained. What is happening, is that there is no way to create, edit, or add to any text field. Hot keys are still active and when an attempt at typing within the text field is made, different windows (powers, feats, level up, etc.) scatter across the screen in 3D mode. In the editor itself, you can click within the text field, where a cursor appears, but when you type nothing happens. It's like the text being typed into the field isn't recognized by the editor. This is remarkably important because we need to be able to name maps, Npc's, items, add dialog in order to make a quest at all.

Yes, logged out and logged back in.

Selecting your asset, map, npc, whatever, and it seems it doesn't acknowledge your selection in order to move on to the next step of naming it. Naming an asset, be it NPC or map, is a also required function to create it, as in part of the operational logic processes of the foundry. Since it's required, add that to workaround info.

Tested with quests that are works in progress. Tested with previously published quests. Re-publishing seems to work, about to go test in live. *update edit* yay at least that works.

Can't create anything new, essentially.

I have heard Alt-Tabbing or waiting for idle time-out fixes the issue. I could be wrong though.

Yeah. Alt-tab it, and it works again. Figured that out late yesterday, hadn't gotten the chance to update it here.
