Crash consistent at login

Open the launcher in compatibility mode. I have tried windows 8, XP 3, XP 2. All do the same thing; open to the Cryptic loading screen as soon as the bar gets just to the end of the word Loading. The client crashes to the desktop. I have come back to the game after a while so this is a brand new install.

    Sorry dude, we are all gamers and volunteers here :)

    Have you read through some of the previous threads, and aside from compatibity mode, what else have you tried? Are you getting a Cryptic error to send in, and do you have any corresponding errors in your event log that you can provide the details on?

    Is this when you are loading the character screen, or as your toon is loading in the map? Have you tried running in a window versus full screen, and have you done a verify of all your files in the launcher (where you update and click on Play to start Neverwinter)?

    Might is not always right - the powerful sometimes forget that.

    Yea Krailov I get that. Figured that Cryptic would have some official support folks. I have verified all files, I have ran window mode and not, I have tried safe mode and not. uninstall and re-install via steam and without steam with Arc and without Arc. It crashes going into the loading screen, every time, so no cryptic errors at all just oops something happened tell us what you were doing dialog.

    You'll have to file a ticket at the ARC website to get official support. Forums are peer to peer tech support only.

    Over the past few days, the game crashes after launching it and getting to the 'Cryptic' loading screen, even in safe mode. This is on my laptop, (desktop works fine). Like I said, this only started happening recently. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? I've already tried multiple reboots, have no other programs running, tried safe mode, forced verify, tried the different proxies/no proxy, etc.

    Have you tried typing -d3d9 in the command line to change it to DX9 instead of 10, 11, or 12?

    Update: So I tried the -d3d9 switch like you mentioned, but the crashing still occurs. Any other suggestions?

    2nd Update: I tried several other permutations, but it still wouldn't work. I had an SSD sitting around that I've been meaning to put into the laptop, so I took this opportunity to do so, and the game works fine... so it must've been some sort of software issue. *shrugs*

    iam using amd radeon hd 7450m and integrated intel hd 3000 but the game has always worked fine for me for over 3 years now i never had this problem until the latest update

    I was able to find something that worked for me, goto your neverwinter files highlight them then delete all of them. Redownload neverwinter and it is gonna take about an hour an half for all the game patches, then you should be good to play

    i wish they would fix this game for windows 10 getting tired of all the crashing dont they realize everyone will be using windows 10 which means a lot of people wont be able to play

    I'm having the same problem. I'm beginning to think it's a win 10 problem. Those who have updated to win 10 shouldn't be a problem, the ones who got win 10 already on their pc, will problably have an issue. I can run this on one laptop, which was originally win 7 and now win 10, but not my new one which is just win 10.

    Hi @bojackane
    You should really start your own thread, as it is likely your issue is not the same as the OP. When you do, please include the hardware you are running on (laptop/PC), what sort of graphics you have, your OS, and what you have done in trying to resolve the issue, plus when the error occurs/what seems to trigger it.

    Might is not always right - the powerful sometimes forget that.

    I had this problem and the uninstall/reinstall solved it for me.
