Waukeen event and too much out of date junk as "rewards".

I wouldn't say I've been an actively diligent participant in this recent event, but I found myself with well over a hundred coin purses.

I bought the full cross section of containers from the rip off artist in the Moonstone mask. One of the big ones, and a few of the smaller ones.
I also opened a couple of dozen purses.

I got... 32 Coins, a bunch of potions, and a metric HAMSTER tonne of dead professions items which I was able to "cash in" for a few points to buy HAMSTER I can make, forage, or buy for next to nothing.

Please, Cryptic, before you run this event again, sort out the loot tables.
It's not a big ask, and it would make this event far more relevant.

Just to add: I'm not upset at not getting the "good stuff", I understand and accept the swings and roundabouts of RNG. Just please don't have stuff you discontinued from the system and replaced with something new as rewards, eh?

It seems that without a general idea as to what the loot tables are, it's hard to even imagine the best way to sort them out. My imagination is that the more prized items have a similar rate of return to a 1,000,000 jackpot at a casino. Like the .0003% chance, which might be why they announce it to the whole server?

Possibly, maybe it's simply a "Look at what YOU could win if you bought some keys with zen!"

To be fair, I'm not that bothered about the chances on RNG, I've had good luck and bad luck, and will continue to do so as long as I play the game.

I just wish they would replace dead professions items with new, live, ones. Maybe even some of the more valuable stuff that you otherwise have to dig up with charts from the guild. Back in them olden days, you might cross your fingers and hope for Elemental Aggregate, or Unified Element, when plumbing the depths of random "profession items". When I saw the reward lists on the containers, (the ones I bought for 32 and 64 purses particularly...) I thought there might be a chance at a new legendary tool, or something cool. I never imagined it would be a pile of forgotten tat from before the changes to the system.

I just wish to add a counter point to part of this. Unlike you, I found the old professions items very useful. Many of those items (elemental ones in particular) sell for a good amount of gold at a vendor. As a crafting player, I find this additional source of gold to be very useful.

I doubt they would put any good items from the new professions with a high chance to drop, so I'm fine to keep it this.

the new box for 64 of the small bags had some good items in it that were selling for quite a lot. the artifact is going for 1.4 mil on xbox. the bags themselves were selling well. I'm ok with the loot table too.

Which is fair enough, but if the only real use for those items is to sell, they should just do away with the HAMSTER and give the equivalent Gold. If they're going to continue to say the rewards contain Professions items they really should be useful to the Professions part of the game.

If they update the loot table... wait for it... they don't have to get rid of everything on it.
The stuff that ISN'T out of date should obviously remain.
I'll point out again that I'm not bothered about the other items, just the out of date Professions stuff.
I'm not talking about, the "Good" items. I thought that was clear from me writing,

"Just to add: I'm not upset at not getting the "good stuff", I understand and accept the swings and roundabouts of RNG. Just please don't have stuff you discontinued from the system and replaced with something new as rewards, eh?"

    But obviously not...
It's not an all or nothing issue.
    Just... Out Of Date Profession.
    Is that clear enough?

    Once more with feeling...
Out of date rewards that no longer serve the purpose for which they were created should be updated.
(And that applies to any upcoming event... Do the work and tidy up the rewards. I couldn't be bothered with the Winter Festival last year, so didn't see if they updated the loot to get rid of all the crappy seals and made the rewards, if not great, at least relevant after several years of it not having been updated. I heard from some people that they had, so why not do that with the rest. It's not a big ask. And if they didn't then it's about time they did!)
