Neverwinter and Dungeons & Dragons Online connected?

Ideas for the novel I'm writing up, and I became intrigued by something. Is Neverwinter plus D&D lore connected with Dungeons & Dragons Online: Menace of the Underdark and The shadow fell conspiracy? Or is it something different? This in terms with the drow and Shadi ki races, since I found out that the Shadi ki were originally created by the Spellplague. But correct me if I'm wrong.

    If you're going to attempt something "official" (nested in the lore of the Realms) it might help if you get the actual terms and races correct.
