Shadow demon on fbi

I am not sure why, but as soon as I go battle the dragon turtle, my companion just dies. I don't understand, but afterwards need to re summon? Is this normal for a shadow demon or do I need another companion summon instead? Just asking. Thanks

Normal.

This occurs with all the "teleport behind enemy" companions.

You might want to pick a different companion for this fight.

They said they will fix this, but it will likely be in or after the 12b stuff for us. My Mercenary does the same thing, just use a different companion in there.
