Coal Wards

So, the family is starting to get to 2k gear score and I dropped $100 between the wife's account and mine for respec, mounts and the like. We've been evoking since day one and have yet to see a coal ward from the vault of piety and we've been playing a few months. The zen market has them for 1000 zen which means each artifact and upgrade cost $10. If I try to save AD, the going rate averages out to 1090 zen with the exchange rate at 275 AD for 1 Zen. I don't know how many times you have to use a coal ward for one artifact, but let's say 3 per item. That's 9 coal wards for three artifacts. I would rather pay a monthly fee of $15 a month and not have to be forced to pay another $100 per account to upgrade so we can do end game content. I do the dailies and so on, but AD doesn't come in that fast.
