Neverwinter - Challenge of the Gods for CO

Morning all. Not sure how many NW players there are hereabouts but at the moment they currently have an event in which defeating enemies randomly drops mini-missions. Defeat 10 enemies in 3 minutes, but without using Daily powers, Survive combat below 50% for 3 minutes, etc. Successful completion gives a special mini-lockbox reward with useful items inside, plus an XP boost.

I always find I miss the Event henchmen (Nighthawk? thugs, Destroids) not being about the place when there's no event on, and it would be quite fun to have a Millennium Crimewave! event with random goons around the place (some daft Nemesis Supervillain level sorts would be extra fun) combined with these NW type mini-missions, just to have a giggle zooming around the city blasting up stuff as fast as possible in a variety of ways, for moderate rewards, tokens, etc.

the core thing here is rewards. You need it to have a reward structure that's useful, but not game breakingly good. the closest thing we currently have are event goodie bag drops. Also they'd need to rethink the challenges. To quote Garthon and Heathendog "stay under 50% health for 3 minutes while fighting? I'm not even going to get DOWN to 50% health!"

'Never get knocked back from a shotgun blast' could be one.

Would be some great challenges to help people learn that you can do that.​​

Typically, if you can stay in combat for 5 minutes at all, you can do so while constantly maintaining near-max hp. Lore objects are fixed spawns, so once learned you should do it 100% (though something like Assembling the Antidote resembles what you're talking about).

This one would be really easy to cheese. Tag something then get somewhere they can't get you then just wait. Or poke a westside mob and then block for 5 minutes. I'm sure we could make a long list of ways to cheese it. It would need to be very specific about where, which mobs, and in what role.​​

don't you lose in-combat status if enemies lose line of sight and wander off?

If they wander off yes, but you can be in a situation where enemies don't have line of sight on you, and can't reach your location, but will still be aggro'd to you indefinitely and hence can keep you in combat while you are completely safe.​​

Anyways, so how difficult are these supposed be?

They could have variable difficulty. Like one is crazy hard, then there are two that are kinda hard, and then two more that are somewhat difficult.​​
