Nama?

I know VIPER worships this african god and is mentioned several times around the game lore. Can someone tell me more of what the PNP books say about this deity?

It's not so much that VIPER worship Nama, as that he's the patron of the organization, although only the highest ranks of VIPER's leadership are aware of the connection. Most of the group's rank-and-file have never even heard of him. Outside of VIPER and some West African cults devoted to him, Nama is known only to a few occult scholars as an obscure serpent-god.

But Nama isn't a god in the same sense as the deities created out of human imagination. 50,000 years ago three ordinary pythons crawled into a cave filled with mysterious fumes which rendered them ageless. Since pythons continue to grow throughout their lives the three became enormous, and eventually achieved intelligence. They ventured forth from their cave to make themselves great powers among Men, and were worshiped as gods.

Over the ages the other two serpents, Beda and Xoruba, were slain by mighty champions; but Nama, most cunning of them, survived. During his vast lifetime Nama learned much sorcery, and walked the world in human shape, studying and teaching, and meddling in mortals' lives according to his whims. Nama is a true mythic trickster, neither good nor evil, helping or harming as amuses him at the time. He's trained and guided great heroes to victory, but also sponsored conquerors and created terrible monsters to threaten mankind.

Nama has the gift of prophecy, and foresaw the rise in the Twentieth Century of beings with power enough to threaten even him. He gathered the founders of VIPER and helped them build the organization, with the intent of forging it into a force that can protect him from those threats. But Nama isn't VIPER's leader, and rarely intervenes in the group's activities. VIPER's Supreme Serpent and his chief lieutenants, the Council of Thirty, have their own ambitions, and follow their own agenda, not Nama's. So long as VIPER remains strong and comes to Nama's call when he needs them, he cares little what else they do.

[The preceding is summarized from VIPER: Coils Of The Serpent.]

Thanks a lot for the information, but I have one more question, is he truly the father of Viperia? in biological or mystical sense or both?

Indeed he is, in both senses. ;) Eleven hundred years ago the queen of a now-forgotten kingdom in Africa sought Nama's help to secure her legacy. It amused Nama to take a human shape and mate with her, but their child was inhumanly powerful and grew up untameable and destructive. Africa's greatest heroes failed to stop her rampages, so they beseeched Nama to restrain her. He placed his daughter in suspended animation until the modern era, when he gifted her to VIPER as their ultimate enforcer.
