    It all looks great, guys, it's actually what I would have loved for the forums here, so awesome work on making more features.
    Now, for someone like me that doesn't speak techy code stuff you smart people are talking, how do I make use of your awesome added features?

    It depends on the browser you use. If you use Chrome, download Stylish, create a new Style, and paste in the CSS he created and save it as a style for the whole perfectworld.vanillaforum domain.

    Would you happen to know what I would use for Firefox?

    I'm pretty sure there's a Stylish add-on for Firefox as well, but I believe more people prefer Greasemonkey for Firefox.

    There is, but at least with Stylish some stuff doesn't seem to work right. The quotes still don't look like they should for me. I guess I'll give greasemonkey a try, too.

    Yeah, they broke the avatars. The CSS injector created by nrglg fixes that, among other things.

    (I'm going to keep editing this post. So keep checking up every so often.)

    I'm going to keep a log of changes I've made. Each new line is a separate edit I've made. So if this changes, then the above was changed.
    1. Added codebox hover-over outline
    2. Added post hover-over outline for helping eye focus
    3. Changed eye focus rule constraints to cover discussion message as well as comments
      .DataList .Item:hover -> .MessageList .Item:hover
    4. Made various changes to previous settings, so they need to be overridden now
    5. Made avatar area prettier
    6. Made numbers on lists "popout" more
    7. Improved quote distinguishability
    8. Made changes to signature area
    9. Made forum thread lists less dull and lifeless
    10. Fixed first post avatar area
    11. Made small change to comment-info area (section -> .Comment .CommentInfo)
    12. Removed red post edited message. (section -> div.PostEdited)
    13. Fixed Flag/Quote box for first post in discussion only (rule change)
      .Reactions -> .Discussion .Item-BodyWrap .Reactions, .Comment .Item-BodyWrap .Reactions
    14. Changed quote block rules
    15. Changed avatar display size to be dynamic instead of fixed
    16. Added dblazen1 fix and slightly changed flag/quote line height so that it feels more even
    17. Re-added max-width for avatars. Don't know how that got removed.
    18. Changed max-height to 125px.

    Alright here's a preview release of my Forum Enhancement tools v0.1

    https://github.com/asterpw/pwevanillaenhance

    It includes the new font color picker and emote picker.
    It also remembers the font color you last used.

    I haven't bundled in all the CSS fun that's been going on yet since it looks like it's still changing a lot and I don't want to cause conflicts.

    Let me know of any bugs.

    I know atm there is a bug in the color picker when editting an existing post. I'll look into that later.

    EDIT: Fixed a bug preventing CSS from loading properly.

    Also Desdi your avatar keeps making me want to rewatch Spice and Wolf... and then reread the novel.... and then rewatch it again. tiger-27.gif

    @nrglg I was wondering, wouldn't it be better to have a dedicated conversation(thread) about the stylish stuff etc and code stuff???

    I would be a lot easer to read (guide type) and having to go through pages of comments to find details on the info...

    just a thought! :smiley:

    there is a super annoying pseudo element bug (possibly ::before) breaking formatting of bookmarked threads on the discussion page.
    http://perfectworld.vanillaforums.com/discussions
    maybe nrg and others would like to include a fix in their css projects?

    i am also updating op to link toward a couple of those useful posts in the thread for those of us watching them for edits.
  • opkossyopkossy Posts: 11,177 Community Moderator
    Probably the main reason it's in here is because we've been using this thread since long before the merge for... pretty much all of their problems as well as the solutions we can add in. It went from a simple "what features do we have" thread to a "Let's break everything and give fixes" thread before the second page had finished. XD

    i am a proud participant in a 900-post-long PM detailing each and every infraction given in the sto forum since 2012, as well as all 'appeal' replies to the moderators. using a little url manipulation its possible list all the posts on a single page for downloading/scraping. great work there!

    Thanks for the suggestions, I did try those but I didn't want to install yet another extension, was trying to use the one I had already.
    Regardless, I made due in the end, but thanks.

    i am a proud participant in a 900-post-long PM detailing each and every infraction given in the sto forum since 2012, as well as all 'appeal' replies to the moderators. using a little url manipulation its possible list all the posts on a single page for downloading/scraping. great work there!

    i had a pm-whale too, got 2 or 3 messages in before realising something wasn't quite right, thankfully you can just delete the whole conversation in 1 go though, would have been a proper mission otherwise. hopefully most people will automatically do the same once they realise what has happened and are aware of how invasive it actually is. there are sure to be folk who will joyfully pry into those messages for *reasons* while blaming their invasion of privacy on pwe for letting it happen, not a particularly nice thought is it?

    Okay, I got Aster's to work, but I am apparently dumb and can't figure out where I place NRGLG's code or w/e. pig-27.gif

    For nrglg's mod I had to use Stylish, just copy the long code bit he posted and paste it in the box where it says code, then add both addresses for these forums (cause they sometimes switch when you visit different sections).
    It will end up looking like this

    Uggh, I think it might be nearly impossible to get this color picker to look correctly when editing posts. There is a lame CSS rule in custom.css that colors the background of td elements in comments with background: #222224 !important;

    I can't manually elevate the importance of the td elements in the picker because it breaks the widget...
    I honestly don't see any good solution (let me know if anyone else knows something).

    Maybe I can rip the element out of the dom... but that would break a bunch too and is ugly.
    I wonder if I can get pwe to take out that !important (that rule doesn't even seem to be used with anything).

    It's probably easier just to find another color picker (though this one looks pretty nice tiger-12.gif).

    The pages are still there. They turned their display to none though. You have to inject this.
    #PagerAfter
    {
        display:block !important;
    }

    This is my current CSS injection in full, if anyone's interested. (Highlight to read and copy it. After injecting this, you will be able to see the codeboxes quite easily.)

    3. Changed eye focus rule constraints to cover discussion message as well as comments
      .DataList .Item:hover -> .MessageList .Item:hover
    4. Made various changes to previous settings, so they need to be overridden now
    5. Made avatar area prettier
    6. Made numbers on lists "popout" more
    7. Improved quote distinguishability
    8. Made changes to signature area
    9. Made forum thread lists less dull and lifeless
    10. Fixed first post avatar area
    11. Made small change to comment-info area (section -> .Comment .CommentInfo)
    12. Removed red post edited message. (section -> div.PostEdited)
    13. Fixed Flag/Quote box for first post in discussion only (rule change)
      .Reactions -> .Discussion .Item-BodyWrap .Reactions, .Comment .Item-BodyWrap .Reactions
    14. Changed quote block rules
    15. Changed avatar display size to be dynamic instead of fixed
    16. Added dblazen1 fix and slightly changed flag/quote line height so that it feels more even
    17. Re-added max-width for avatars. Don't know how that got removed.
    18. Changed max-height to 125px.

    Thanks for this man! I was going to start working on a CSS injection myself today because I just can't handle all the 'blending' of the new forums. You've saved me some time. :)
